clementine uses her elemental powers only for offensive uses, she sees any other uses for them as a waste of her energy. She isn't overly reliant on it in battle but if she knows she needs it, she uses It. Even though she is proud of her abilities, she also sees it as showing her weaknesses in battle, so she is much more physically able than others around her.
