Alex's Talismen is a pair of high tech gauntlets / gloves that he got from his mother whom was also an skilled Engineer. These gloves produce nanites that are programmed to turn into any tool he needs. This can range from a specialised tester or scanner to a wrench or a hammer and many other types.  He is also able to scan things for diagnostics wit his gloves. Using this he can read the results on its display or out put them on a holo-display that he and others can see more clearly.
