[PKMN-Crater] Hot Spring Hatching [Egg Hatching]

As they finished climbing the stone stairs up to the top, Morgan let out a soft groan. That had taken longer than expected but at least she had this to look forward to; a grouping of hot springs up in the mountains. Morgan slipped off her shoes and socks before dipping a foot into the almost milky blue water. The water was hot, as it should be, but she hadn’t expected this level of hot. Lavaridge Town back in Hoenn had hot springs but somehow these ones she had found were different; of course, everything in this region was different. From the bizarrely typed Pokemon to the strange fusions to a mixture of the two, it wasn’t shocking the water would be the same. She sat on some of the rocks on the edge, dipping her legs into the water up to her knees.

These hot springs, despite feeling burning on her skin, didn’t exactly hurt her. It felt tingly, as if soft bubbles were tickling up her legs, and she pulled her legs out of the water quickly. The air outside of the hot spring was not cold to Morgan until her legs were out of the water and on the now slick rocks. It was barely a few seconds before she plunged her calves back into the hot liquid to stop the shivering that had begun.

Gum gave a soft chitter as he climbed down Morgan’s arm as she panicked with the heat with a soft chitter.

“Oh, sorry Gummy Bear. I just got so excited!” The human didn’t actually understand the Pokemon’s chittering, she was guessing based on body language and him scurrying away from her that he was upset. “I promise I’ll get us a nice meal once we’re done.” There were no more noises from the Snom as he got comfortable on a rock nearby but the teenager knew Gum was excited.

With her legs in the water, the tingly feeling never fading as she sat there, Morgan slowly removed the bag from her back and placed it next to her. She slowly unzipped it and pulled out a large white and green egg.

“Here they are.” Morgan spoke to Gum, holding the egg close to them and giving it a small hug. “Our new friend.”

She placed the egg back down into the bag for a moment as she took the time to put her hair up further- her pigtails now in space buns- and to remove her dress. She took extra time to pack her clothes into the bag to keep them dry. She didn’t want to be that freezing on the way back down.

Morgan picked the egg up for the second time and finished sliding into the water. She knew that time with the egg would help it hatch but there was a secret in Hoenn that warming your eggs in the hot springs would help them hatch faster. She could only hope this one would do the same. As they sat together, Morgan in the water with the egg and Gum on the rock, the egg slowly began to rock and crack...
