Hawk Bending

I did this as a contest entry on Gaia Online just recently. No, I didn't win, but I did not expect to X3 I'd love to know what people think about the pose, anatomy and perspective more than the colouring (if only because the colouring was rather washed out in the scan and looks quite better on paper), but all is welcome.

Hawk is not my character, but a friend's. (ForsakenChld)

The pose is fantastic. Did you use any reference photos or anything?
