I love the color, especially the face. The best part is that you didn't blend into oblivion (like most people do with any type of pastels) but instead let the color shine through in layers.
The most striking part of this picture is her hair, which makes me think "whohoo, curly thing!" then draws me into looking at it closer. But the wispy hairs look stiff if you look them a while longer, like they're being held back instead of flowing, and it looks flat. It's the contrasting flat/curly that does it.
