The posturing of the characters definitely
gets across what you said in the comments.

Question - what did you use to get the colors?

    What I did for the colors? Um, not sure what you mean...I use CS2 and I tend to use one of the hard brushes (I don't know it's name but it comes standard w/ PS 7 and above) with some color dynamics/opacity/flow adjustment. Does that answer your question?

    Oh, and the 'underpainting" I guess is just a dark color and I build up on it with the skin tones/shirt/etc.
