I know what you mean. I've had that happen too where the traditional sketch has so much energy then when I got to ink/color it loses that energy.

Just an fyi we're planning to hold a Theme week event soon where artists all draw art based on a predefined theme. If you have any ideas on what we could do for it, feel free to post here. We're thinking the next one would be based on colors instead of a subject matter:
