Flocks are made up of player groups and their Stryx who are closely bonded either by friendship, blood, or shared aspirations, and through this bond can perform certain tasks far better than Stryx who go it alone.
Flock Benefits
Most Flock Benefits will only apply for Stryx who have different owners within the same Flock. You won't get the benefits unless the Flockmate being featured alongside your Stryx belongs to another player in the Flock.
- +2AP to any images drawn that feature Flockmates, or stories that involve Flockmates in equal measure. This bonus only applies to artwork/literature created after joining a Flock. It can be claimed once per art/literature and does not stack even if multiple flockmates are featured.
- Flock Leaders may set up their own independent benefits for Flockmates, such as discounts if players are selling genos to one another, etc.
- Bonding Rituals between Flockmates are more likely to succeed. This bonus applies to Stryx owned by the same player, as well as different players.
- Hunting, Fishing, and Scavenging entries are more likely to retrieve extra, or rare, items if Flockmates are featured together in those entries.
Rules
Starting / Editing a Flock
- Any player may found a Flock with the "Register a Flock" form. Players may be founders of more than one Flock.
- In order to be recognized, Flocks must have at least 4 players at the start. This number includes the founder (i.e. one founder + three members).
- The founder should have a means to track all its members, such as a DeviantArt Group or journal, a blog post on PaperDemon, or a Google Sheet or Doc.
- Flocks provide a Flock Symbol such as these: Flocks.
- Flock names and symbols may be edited after founding. This action may only be done by or with the express permission of the Flock's founder.
- The Flock founder may transfer foundership of the flock to any other player who is a member of the Flock.
Flock Membership
- Flocks can have a maximum of 20 players. Players may have multiple Stryx in the same Flock. There is no limit to how many Stryx can be in a single Flock, so long as the amount of players does not exceed 20.
- A Stryx can only participate in a single Flock at one time, but the player isn't limited to membership in a single Flock, so if the player has multiple Stryx, they do not need to place them all in the same Flock.
Joining / Leaving a Flock
- If an existing Flock has Player space, more players may be added at any time.
- Players may leave or join flocks at any time, so long as the flock member count does not drop below 4 or exceed 20.
- Before a player can leave a flock, they need to remove all their stryx from that flock.
- Your Stryx may switch Flocks once per month, but if you do so, prior images that might have been eligible for the Flock AP bonus will no longer be eligible.
- Joining players need to be listed in the flock member tracker before requesting to join in this queue.
Selling / Trading Flocked Stryx
- If a player trades/sells a stryx to a player not a member of the flock, the stryx will be removed from the flock.
- To keep AP bonuses, the new owner must be or become a member the stryx's current flock. Please be sure that the new owner is confirmed as a member of that flock BEFORE transferring the stryx.
