Magic is in the air!
Your PaperDemon character has a Latent Element. Their latent element is an elemental magical ability that your character can use in both your original art and stories as well as game mechanics. This magical power will aid them in their journey across the many realms of the universe. Sometimes, the power a character starts with doesn’t match their heart’s desire. In this challenge, you will be changing your character’s Latent Element.
This challenge requires a little more work, so choose your element wisely! The element will affect your character’s strengths, weaknesses, and abilities in battle. Your character may even earn bonuses for traveling through portals that offer advantages for their element.

Challenge Requirements
You will be using the character you registered in our Character Creation Challenge. If you haven’t registered a character yet, follow that link to do so!
Make sure to complete and upload all three prompts before submitting your work to the queue for rewards.

You may be creative with how your character’s element presents, but it must not look like an element it is not, including duocast elements.

If you are submitting art, it should be a full color or multi-tone greyscale piece that shows at least half of your character’s body and matches the prompt you have chosen. Shading is optional.

If you are submitting writing, your registered character should be the focus of the piece. The piece should be at least 700 words for each chapter and it must match the content of the prompt you have chosen.

Submit each entry to PaperDemon.com as a separate artwork or chapter. Indicate if it is Prompt 1, 2, or 3 in the description. To receive your rewards enter each of the three submissions in the queue at the bottom of this page.

An admin from our team will process your request, grant your character their AP, and update your character sheet's element. You’ll receive a private message when the process is complete.
Available Elements
Prompts
You do not need to answer all of the questions listed in the prompts, they are simply ideas for how to fulfill the bolded requirements. But you must create 3 works of art/writing, one for each prompt.
Prompt #1 - A Poor Fit
Your character’s current element is confusing, irritating, frightening, or maybe just plain boring to them. Through art or writing, show how your character’s current element does not work for them. Do they have a hard time controlling it? Does it feel underpowered to them? Overpowered? Does it simply not work for the magic they want to be able to perform?
Prompt #2 - Training Montage
There are many paths to success. Show how your character changes their element. Do they seek out a mentor? Do they go searching for a magical item? Do they spend hours in the library researching? Do they train themselves by sheer force of will?
Prompt #3 - Finding Yourself
After a long and difficult journey, your character finally succeeds. They can use their new element at will. Show your character using their new element. How do they feel about their new element? What do they use it for? Are they just as skilled in it already as they were with their old element or do they have a long way to go to improve themselves?
