With the orb at low power, the spells around the edges of Decra weaken, allowing pests and vermin from the local forest into the city. The magic rich and well cultivated plant buildings of the city are far sweeter and more appealing than the tough rainforest greenery, and the city is overrun in short order. Razor Leaf Beetles are among the most onerous, with the smaller species shredding leaves and the larger ones chewing through vines and trunks that make up the structure of buildings. Engage in pest control until the orb can be recharged!

Consider adding a “bugs” tag to your piece if you feature insects– fantastical or not.

The artwork must fulfill the prompt and be at minimum a black and white sketch that includes about half of your character’s body.

If you’ve already gone through all of the prompts, feel free to join our Discord and drop new prompt ideas into the #bugs-and-suggestions forum for review.
Make sure to copy and paste the prompt and its number into the description of the works you upload for battle!

Draw or write about your character fighting the boss!

Draw or write about your character trying to stop the boss without fighting it. Do they use the creepy crawly version of pied piper music to lure the vermin and pests out? Do they use a magic spell to make the critters constructive instead of destructive?

Draw or write about your character researching the pests and vermin to determine the best solution for handling them.

Draw or write about your character helping recharge the orb to drive the vermin out.

Draw or write about your character repairing the damage to the plant structures.

Draw or write about your character setting up spells and barriers around the edges of the town to halt the flow of plant-eating pests.

Are you not a fan of bugs and vermin? What kind of creatures would your character prefer to encounter? Draw or write about your character’s critter preferences.

If your character was a bug, what kind of bug would they be and why? Draw or write about it.

Pair up with another creator and swap styles! Try to write or draw a piece with your character in their style. Make sure to check with them to make sure they’re all right with it first.

Draw an outfit for your character based on a moth, beetle, butterfly, or other bug.

Write a song about your character in battle– it can be about the excitement, the fear, or whatever else your character feels in combat.
Rewards
For each character you enter into battle with, you will earn…

50 XP per attack or hosted Duocast

40 Gold per attack or hosted Duocast

10 Trokens per attack or hosted Duocast

5 - 7 AP per attack or hosted Duocast. Your duocast partner also earns AP from being depicted in the artwork/writing.

5 AP for sketches and 150 word written works

7 AP for full color art or 225+ word written works

(The person who posts the duocast is considered the host of the Duocast)
Mechanics changes
If you've participated in our last boss fight, here's some notable mechanics changes to be aware of.

Your character's rank will impact how much damage you do.

Equipping a gold drop companion will get you extra gold from battle entries.

Equipping a Par Kat will increase your attack damage.
