Vegeta and Bulma

Posted Jan 9, 2014, 7:38:01 AM

It's Bulma and Vegeta doing it against a wall. For some reason I always imagine them in those "three years" against a wall in a hallway.

It's a sketch right now. So far I've put in about 4 hours to sketching it. Took a while to get the pose just right. Next is ink and color. I need to come up with a background still.

Feedback welcome.

Heh- I love that Vegeta has his removed tail mark above his butt Smile This for Surviving Together? OR fun?

Just for fun. I haven't touched Surviving Together in a while sadly. Over the past year I've been focused on Dragon Mall Quest. But Surviving Together has been on my mind a lot recently. I just re-read it and have some ideas on how to simplify the animation to get it done faster.
      Thanks for the comments.

Oh- that sounds good! You always have so many projects on TuT It's really good to have those. A lot of artists just draw and flutter between stuff. Being able to stick through a project is a skill Smile So is Dragon Mall Quest a game or something?

Dragon Mall Quest is a new animated series brought to you by the funny folks who worked on Zarbon's Masterpiece Theater! We're nearly done with Ep1 animation and have almost all of season 1 scripted and storyboarded. We're going to do a kickstarter/indiegogo to raise money for production costs. I'll let you know when I send it out.

Actually I'm not as disciplined as I'd like to be. Surviving Together is something I only work on a few weeks out of the year if even that. I tend to start things and not finish them Sad

But things are better when there are other people involved pushing me to continue making progress like my friends are on Dragon Mall Quest.

There's no shame in that. ZMT and DMQ are group activities and I know that if I work with others I feed off their energy too. It's hard working alone so I'm not surprised. You might be coming up to a difficult part of the Surviving Together thing and need encouragement or what ever. IT's a big project too, and I take it that you don't get paid for it? IT's super hard to work your butt off for no money, with no friends. I had that being a Cub leader, and my Dad gets it with stuff too. Lots of hard work and no one supporting you. It gave me an emotional breakdown cause I didn't get the option of pulling away or taking a break. Luckily you can do that.

I donno. Perhaps you need to sit down and work out how much the Surviving together project is important to you. Is it? If it really is and you just haven't had time to think about it, when CAN you? In May? December? Give yourself a goal date to start focusing on it and don't take on any new projects. I suggest getting a ban wagon of supporters cheering you on- not just beta readers. A band wagon. Maybe post a new teaser. I'm not sure what makes you tick with a project, and you probably already know this stuff, but I think you already HAVE the discipline. I think it just got put aside in priority in your mind Smile Don't feel guilty about not working on it though even though it was bucket list animation. Determine how bad you want to do it, and when you can dedicate your time to it and until then, don't worry about it. You've got TONES on your plate already. You want to put in art for you, and time for you in amongst all of this so don't do what I do and burn yourself out- OK? Glomp I have IBS now due to stress and not taking care of my body, and I'm having to deal with not enjoying life like others do cause most of the foods people eat will make me have pain, swelling, skin rashes, and many other issues. You don't want that if you haven't got it already, hon Sad

Saying all of this, do you think you could come up with a plan for this where you work on either DMQ or Surviving together? If DMQ is committed and more important, then don't feel guilty about dropping the other, OK? Just saying Heart

Arkillian. Your detailed message means a lot to me. Thanks for taking the time to write it out.

I'm not getting paid at all for Surviving Together. I agree I need a band wagon of supporters to keep me motiviated. And I should set a timeline.

I must finish DMQ this year though for tax reasons so I have to do that first. So I'll set something on my calendar to revisit Surviving Together late this year.

It's no worries, Susie. I know what it's liek to WANT to do projects while stuff is going on in my life and I know this year I've had to postpone the heck out of a lot of things that I really wanted to achieve earlier in the year cause I'm not ready to do it yet. Part of me feels like 2013 was a failure but really, I look back and I was able to achieve some REALLY huge things cause I was able to let go of stuff that wasn't important, and focus on the stuff I had to do then. The stuff I wanted to do but couldn't are still there, and when I get back into a good sleeping habit for work I'll be able to do them Smile Sometimes it's good to be told that it's OK to put a project that is important to you off for something more important. Hug I wish you luck in getting through DMQ swiftly and efficiently, hon. And remember to stop and draw smut every now and then cause no matter how important DMQ is, drawing Bulma and Vegeta making out needs to cram in there too ;)

Thanks for being so positive and supportive. I love your positive outlook on life. You are amazing. And yes I'll try to make time for smut heheheh. Big Smile

This is gorgeous, missus! For some reason my first thought was that they were doing it in that...oh lord, it's been a while since DBZ but, that big super-gravity chamber where you can up the gravity for training? I don't know why that came to mind.

I think my only critique for it is Bulma's left hand (the one resting on Vegeta's shoulder). Compared to her other hand, it looks fairly limp. I like to think she'd be grabbing him with both hands, or maybe scratching him up a little. I just think the fact that it's relaxed compared to the rest of the picture kind of weakens the intensity of the mood slightly.
