This is a really unique mask. I bet I'm the only person who has ever made a Kirin mask, because they're such odd mythological animals that most people don't know what they are.
A kirin is a Chinese unicorn...sorta. They have forked horns instead of spirals (sometimes, two horns) and they're almost dragon-like. Like the Chinese dragon, they are considered "good" creatures full of magic & wisdom.
Very much inspired by my love for the "Twelve Kingdoms" anime, but based on a more "traditional" kirin description (which is why there are catfish whiskers and dragon scales).
The Kirin mask is made entirely of leather, hand-sculpted & painted with Liquitex acrylic paints.
