Tears of Red: Sisters

"Mmmmm.... ladida...." Bombalurina was humming to herself in the kitchen.  She was making some salmon for her and her sister, Demeter.  They had always been inseperable best friends, but how was she going to tell her about the engagement?  How would she react?  All of this question popped into her head, but were brutally shoved away by the pure hapiness Bomba had.  It was not often that her whole body pushed out all it's negative energy and was completely happy.  In fact, this was probably one of the only times it would happen.  Of course she was still a bit confused as to how her sister would react, but they were sisters.  Demeter wouldn't be mad.

"What are you so darn happy about?" Demeter asked?  She walked into the kitchen, her fur soaking wet from the sudden downpour that had happened a bit after Bombalurina had come home.

"Oh, nothing.  Well, it is something... but... wel, can you keep a secret?" Bombalurina asked.

"Of course!  We've told each other lots of secrets and have I ever told amy of your secrets to anyone?" Demeter asked.

"Well, no.  But this secret is big!  The king of all secrets!  This is the secret every Queen wants.  Well, I guess I've been putting it off long enough...  Tugger and I are becoming mates!" Bombalurina exclaimed.  Demeter's face lit up in happiness.

"You two?  After all these years?  Bomba!  I'm so happy for you!  When?" Demeter asked.  The mating ceremony was much like a marriage ceremony.  The two mates would get ready, and then the whole jellicle tribe would come to the Junkyard and see the joyous celebration.  Then, the two mates would be joined, and then, of course, the mating would be done privately.  It was a wonderful thing!  And of course, Tugger and Bomba had to announce themselves to Old Deuteronomy, the jellicle leader, so he could prepare.  But, until they announced themselves, it was a secret.

"I don't know.  We haven't even announced ourselves yet, you know?  These things take time!" Bomba said.

"When are you going to announce yourselves?" she asked.

"Tomorrow!" Bobma said.  "It's so exciting!  If only mother could be here..." Bomba said sadly.  Her mother, Grizabella had gone to the Heavyside Layer a few years ago.  The Heavyside Layer is like a heaven for cats, and Grizabella had been chosen to be reborn into a new cat.  But, of course, no one knew who she was. 

"She'll be watching you.  She'll be happy.  Well, not entirely happy that you're marrying Tugger, but I think she'll forgive you."

"Yeah, Tugger wasn't exactly her choice of a fit mate," Bomba sighed.  Rum Tum Tugger wasn't exactly fond of Grizabella.  He called her a slut and he had said , "Good Riddance!" when she went to the Heavyside Layer.  But still, he still loved her.

"My sister's going to be married!  This is so exciting!" Demeter said with tears in her eyes.  she hugged her and Bomba thought, "Thank God for sisters."
