To what have I sworn allegiance?
To a psychopath? To an angel bright?
Once each sunrise lent me awe.
Now I ask, whence comes the night?
Would I be free from all my fearing
If I could better see the figure nearing?

NaPoWriMo poetry challenge --- This was basically the month-long equivalent of a poetry journal - some creative ideas, some random whimsy, and quite a bit of trying to work through religious frustrations.
