NG III Team Kasuga

Monzaemon - A mute but serious ninja whose passion for kabuki acting since childhood inspired his choice of jutsu. He is obedient to Kasuga, despite her treating him and Hyunsuke with little regard. Due to his androgynous appearance he is easily, and often, mistaken for a woman, a misconception that greatly irritates him. Because his taijutsu level is so poor, he compensates for it with his graceful and mesmerizing kabuki dances, lulling the foe into a deep trance thus allowing him to take advantage of the situation. When he dances, he makes various hand-signs that cause the genjutsu to take effect on the watching foe. Monzaemon is also skilled in the arts of disguise. His mask, what people initially assume is an ordinary kabuki mask, has the ability to copy a foe’s facial structure by scanning his/her chakra, and then when worn by Monzaemon transfers the foe’s features onto him, transforming him into the foe. It also lends him the ability to mimic a person’s voice. But there are several limits to this: Monzaemon can only copy people of his height and mass, can only disguise as 3 persons in one day, and finally the disguises only last 60 mins each, and reverts to normal when the time’s up. In case he is or about to be discovered, Monzaemon keeps hidden poisoned kunais and shurikens in his kimono.

Hyunsuke – Good-humored, a little dumb, and rather fat, Hyunsuke hardly fits the traditional concept of the ninja. While his chunky physique says otherwise, Hyunsuke possess remarkable speed and agility for a man his size and is able to dodge most attacks.  Hyunsuke harbours a huge crush on Kasuga who treats him like garbage and cruelly manipulates him in return, despite her treatment of him he is hopelessly determined to do whatever it takes to win her affection. Hyunsuke specializes in taijutsu and water jutsus. His most used ability is one similar to the Akimichi clan’s Expansion Jutsu, only he has to absorb moisture and then inflate himself into a giant rolling water-ball of destruction. In addition to this particular state, his skin becomes impenetrable to sharp objects.

Kasuga – Mean, scathing, vain and manipulative, Kasuga’s cold personality matches her choice of ninjutsu. Hailing from a nomadic ninja tribe in the icy mountains of Kirigakure, Kasuga’s skin contains special ice particles that, when shed, turn whatever it touches to ice. This is known as Diamond Dust Jutsu. Not only can this jutsu freeze any object it touches, it can even create armour of ice as a defense mechanism against hard hitting attacks, but requires a lot of chakra to do so. Kasuga is also very skilled in taijutsu, as it allows her to get closer and increase her chances of hitting and freezing her foe. However, Diamond Dust Jutsu is useless in warm climates as heat greatly weakens ice. Kasuga treats her team-mates like lackeys, constantly ordering them around and freezes them if they displease her. One of her favourite targets for her frustrations is Hyunsuke whose huge crush on her is something she is painfully aware of and manipulates him to do her bidding because of it. She never experiences these sorts of problems with Monzaemon as he obediently follows her without question but this doesn’t necessarily exempt him from her ‘cold punishments’.
