DezWIP01: Posing

So, 'cause I'm bored stupid, I'm posting a WIP of one of the 3 of my current 3d Projects. First think I always find helpful is posing. As you see in the corner I do a few doodles of what I think may look cool, then do a large scale one (in blue). At which point I stand up and actually try to put myself in that pose (with the help of my mac's photobooth). In red you can see I tweeked the pose a huge amount (I fell on my @$$ about three times before I got to the pose I liked best. 
 
So, why do I pose first? For a model that's not going to be in any other position, I find it's needed to know how the clothes and hair is going to fall before I start modelling. If it's a character that's just going to be in a T-pose (booooring...) then I just sketch the character and worry about fabric types.
