Personality:  
Despite not being the best at talking to people and trying to act tough, Rook usually means well and is actually quite nice when you get to know him. He doesn’t like people knowing, but he’s a bit of a crybaby and softie. He’s pretty self conscious about how people view him and that makes him lean harder into his tough guy, “I don’t give a shit” persona. Rook doesn’t like people telling him what to do, even if they mean well. He is passionate about pokemon battling and if comfortable and given the chance he will certainly infodump about the history of gym challenges and champions and battle strategies. 

Background: 
Rook had a rough start at life, growing up in Castelia City with just him and his often uncaring mother. He always had dreams of becoming a pokemon trainer and taking on the gym challenge, maybe even becoming champion one day, but that dream never came to fruition. Instead Rook became a troublemaker growing up, eventually becoming pretty good at stealing. In his teens he ended up becoming part of a gang and things started to go downhill. After being tasked with stealing pokemon and eggs for reselling and ransom, Rook realized things were getting too intense for him. He wanted a fresh start and decided to come to Crater City.
