Armaleos' character sheet

Name: Armaleos
Age: Uncertain. He is an adult dragon

Species: Forest dragon, or at least that's how he calls himself as

Size: 5' / 1m53 long

Iris' color: Pink with a yellow S in the middle

Personality: Curious, playful and kind, Armaleos is a rather lovely dragon who loves discovering new interesting places and meet new people! He usually dislikes conflict though, and prefers avoid fighting if he can, but will if needed. Sometimes, he can be a little lizard brained, wanting to eat anything that can fit in his throat and often thinking with his tummy first. If you want to give him a treat: offer him a living mouse! He adores those~ But don't you dare hold them by their tail! Also, he absolutely loves plushies, so don't hesitate to gift him those too! Even more if they are homemade!

Story (completely modified from original to fit better): A long time ago, a king from a faraway kingdom got a kid. A pretty daughter with a name just as pretty: Gwendoline. She got granted quite a great life thanks to the twisted mind of her father. Thanks to the research of a terrible magical science, or whatever they did to make this stupid miracle work, the kingdom managed to find a way to mutate a creature to accelerate their growth, stabilize their size and aging, and provide them a rather surprising inteligence, close to one of a human.

To make the best gift he could to his daughter, the king ordered his army to go steal a dragon egg. A foolish and selfish manoeuver that cost the life of many men and two splendid creatures, but ended as a success. With their mutation process ready, they managed to transform the dragonling growing within the egg, changing his appearance greately and his future behavior.

Armaleos was born. The princess was still very young, and the newly born dragon still had to grow up and be trained. The scientists were all very prideful to see their creation end up as expected. Despite having struggled a little when it came to teaching him manners and how to speak, the dragon quickly grew and stayed at the perfect size of five foot long. The king was in bliss. He basically created what looked like a large guard dog, but with wings, large claws, and that was smart enough to talk and always obey. The perfect guardian and companion for his daughter!

At the princess' sixteenth birthday, the king finally gifted his amazing present to her. A tamed dragon! Just for her! Unaware of the horrible quest it was to create this abomination, Gwendoline was in pure joy. She very quickly adopted him, and thankfully, Armaleos seemed to like her too.

Many wonderful years passed. Gwendoline taught tricks to her dragon, played with him every day, went on small little adventures together... it was a living paradise! Armaleos even found out he could manipulate earth, a weird power that neither of them could really explain, but had to do with the genetic manipulation that the dragon went through. The princess helped him get better at using his powers, to the point he could eventually grow flowers or keep them fresh for longer. Those years were of the most wonderful they ever had. The two of them would lie if they didn't sort of fell in love for one another...

But during a tragic night, this paradise collapsed. A very talented group of assassins managed to get in the princess' room while Armaleos and Gwendoline were sleeping, and took the best shot of their life. After months, if not years of preparation, the assassins managed to murder the princess without being noticed... or at least, not by anyone but the princess herself. Her scream woke up a good side of the castle, including her dearest pet. Jolting awake in pure fear, the dragon checked on her, just to find nothing but the lifeless body of his beloved. No assassins were in sight as they managed to escape, or perhaps just dissappear as soon as they mutilated her body with many hits of their knife.

Armaleos bounced on her bed, tears flowing in cascade along his scaly cheeks. She was gone, and it was all his fault for not picking up the intruders. He barely got the time to nuzzle her princess and tell her one last goodbye that the guards blasted through the door, pointing the dragon of their finger like if he was the culprit. The king was right behind, and upon seeing the disaster and the dragon standing right on top of his murdered daughter, rage boiled through his head. He yelled at beast and ordered to capture him, certain that he killed his daughter. Unable to defend himself and explain what happened, Armaleos simply turned around and jumped through the window, breaking it open with his thick scales and taking flight to flee far, far away from these lands he once called home.

It's been many, many years since he left, starting a new life in the wilderness as nothing but a small forest dragon. It wasn't always easy, but he was managing to survive very well, and even managed to like it a lot. It felt... natural, and in the correct order of things. But despite those dozens, if not hundreds of years, the memories of this accursed night would still occasionally hurt his mind in small spikes. He was left with nothing but himself and his souvenirs. Perhaps socializing with new people would be the way to go?

Hello Arma!! Wow, what a ride he's been through -- he lost his beloved princess and was blamed for her death... I wish him happy adventures in the Paperverse ^-^

Small dragon gang, whee! My character's species is a drakon (small dragon, no wings, big ears, much floof)- though he's only half, but he makes it a point to correct anyone who thinks he's part rabbit or mouse instead.

I know right! Poor dergy :'C But I'm sure he'll have an amazing new life and meet with wonderful new people after spending so many years in hermit!

Hehe, I loooove the fact Arma is a small dragon! I always envisioned him that way, and it allows me to play him in many setup in which big dragons wouldn't manage to fit in, like in houses, taverns and what not. He can actually follow an adventurer or a group into their adventures! I looove playing him in tabletop RPGs when I have the chance!

Maybe he'll get to meet your half drakon one day! That would be pretty great! ^^

Gotta love the versatility of being travel-sized ^v^ Paiko definitely agrees - his favorite places are tight spaces! I bet he'd love to meet Arma one day as well (he's usually hanging out in the Guild) Big Smile

Is that so? Hehehe! Well well, we'll definitely see that then! ^^

Yessss Armaleos is here! Welcome to the paperverse!
I really love the backstory of Armaleos. Poor dragon has gone through a lot.
Iā€™m excited to see more of him as his adventure unfolds Big Smile

      Thank youu!!

And I'm glad you're loving his backstory! That is very far from his original lore, but when I need to play Armaleos as a more "normal" dragon, that's usually what I'm going for ^^ Poor Arma indeed :C

Hehe, I was actually a little worried when posting the story! I was scared to hit the morbid check, and even removed a small mention about blood to keep it safe! But I'm glad you liked it ^^ <3

I can't wait to see him evolve in this universe as well! Perhaps one day, he'll discover more about his past, like why he never saw his parents, or what he looks so weird and is so small for a dragon!
