Chevy is still really surprised he _has_ magic. He never showed signs of magic until very recently, and it's been several months since he entered the Paperverse, so he thought for a long time that he was just the odd man out. 

His ability to purify water by forcing the sediment to the bottom is... less than impressive. But it's useful. He'll go with it.
