DEKA - DRUNK WITH LOVE (3-CHARACTER TEST)

#94 What kind of drunk is your character? Sad drunk, flirty drunk, sleepy drunk?

Stella went with Basil to talk to Lara Kai, who was in her garden chuckling to herself. She managed to ask her out for a nice talk.

Using her brush, she made for Lara a nice cloud to sit on. The Cloudweaver Brush can do so many things, with the only limit being the imagination of its wielder. Stella sits on her water bubble, while Lara Kai sits on the cloud made by the brush.

 

"You know that was my treasure, right?" asks Lara Kai, her eyes peeled on the Cloudweaver Brush.

"Uh, I don't see a name tag, therefore finder's keepers," responds Stella sarcastically.

"Aww, why so serious, little star? Is it because I might play with you, sweetie?"

"We're not even blood-related!"

"But you look like me when I was younger, Stella. Don't you see that we look so alike?"

Basil flew to Stella, whispering in her ear, "I think you need to change the subject."

She sighed, and finally brought up a question to Lara Kai.

"How would you feel if you lost everything?" Stella asks.

A long pause, and a sudden change in expression. Lara was not even staring at Stella, but at the sky. She knows things that Stella isn't ready for. Or perhaps...

Lara Kai knew loss before Stella was born.

 

She went quiet for minutes, pondering on the topic, before answering with... for the first time, a normal tone. There was no hint of hate or malice, but simply... human.

 

"I've lost everything, so why should I even cry again?" begins Lara Kai, "I've seen things disappear, especially people. The more I witness it, the more I get numb, the more I don't feel a thing... I think."

"Go on," encouraged Stella, "I'm always open to hear whatever thoughts you have."

"Like I don't feel very impacted by the scene. To go to someone's funeral is like paying your loved ones a visit. Do I have people I cared for? Yeah, I did. But that was billions of years ago. And yet I still remember each of their faces, their voices, their hairs... I remember how we do things..."

"... How far would you go to protect someone you love?"

 

Lara Kai... became blank for a second.

"If they are worth the thousand souls I would meet in my life, I would do anything to keep them safe. I would even be there when they shed their first tears."

 

Stella was eager to hear the true thoughts of Lara Kai's mind. However, as she went on, she shrinks into shock. The responses of Lara Kai were more... violent, as if she would go beyond the edge and into the insanity of being an amoral person if it means protecting someone she holds dear.

 

"Heck, I would take your soul to the Nether with me, and we would be together... FOREVER!" Lara Kai grins viciously at Stella.

Basil and Stella were dead silent and terrified at the long rant of Lara.

But then she laughed so hard that the thought of going as far as stealing a person's soul would scare the life out of a Drifter-in-training. Her cheeks blushed as she kept laughing, while Stella was frozen in fear.

 

"I swear she was joking," mutters Stella.

Basil sighed in relief.

Of course Lara Kai wouldn't do such a thing... unless the situation calls for it.

Does "drunk by emotions" count?

Because as far as I can portray Lara Kai without heading to the darker aspects only adults can comprehend, I can only make it like a dark humor type. Also, drawing scared Stella is much funnier, pencil or pen. As always, I HAVE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHARACTERS IN THE PICTURE, SO I DID 3, LOL.
