He can't help his dog instincts which tend to shine through when he's especially hungry. Shoes (especially expensive ones) are just way too tasty and they manage to calm his nerves! The guild members don't like finding their shoes either being completely destroyed, drenched in drool, gone or covered in weird gooey slime that tends to twitch so Ain's got a problem now!
