Susie, this is looking awesome! And I think the sword pointing upwards is a nice compositional feature...maybe not worth pointing downward? But give it a try, see how it looks. 
And I love the way you've wrapped the cape around him like that; billowing out around him, mimicking his hair...Can't wait to see this finished. It sounds like you're enjoying your class too, and that makes all the difference.

BogusRed yeah this class is turning out to be a lot of fun. maybe i'll keep the sword up but find a way to push the legs up higher instead.
