XD They do that- most of my art is self taught (don't take my rescent submissions as my good art though- that stuff is rushed ^^; Saturation is definetly something to think about though- and subject. Contrasts in lighting and in colour is equally important. Alot of people use a bold colour scheme cause it looks dramatic- it does. You still need to point out the subject though. Sometimes the opposite also works- a pale subject against a saturated background can also be a powerful statement http://www.paperdemon.com/artview.php/id/6501.html It still need to touch this up some more, but you can tell that even though the wings are verysaturated in colour, that he's the subject- that's the rules of 1/3rds with placement. Sooo much info and too stong of a coffee to tell sanely.... ^^; Aiie...

What i like about yours (the link you sent) is the transparencies! Its so soft and ghostly. I also find it interesting that my mind, maybe not anyone elses...has a hard time focusing on both foreground and back ground at the same time, the foreground is so crisp by comparison!

I do know how to get that affect, i just needs ta practice! oi.
