Sorry its taken me so long to comment on this, Father's Day stuff and my son took me hiking for the last couple of days. Apologies.
I like what you've done here with all of the little details, the pearls on his crown are marvelous and I noticed that you even put highlight shades on each individual pearl! That must of been hell on your hand. Anyways they turned out great.
His eyes also look marvelous, very soulful and the depth effect in them is stunning. You are very skilled at rendering gorgeous eyes with a lot of life in them.
Another thing I noticed is the buttons, very intricate, almost as intricate as the family seal which i'm glad you added.
In all I must say that the job you did on this is at the very least is worth a standig ovation (that how you spell it?). You did an awsome job on this Kristina and I am truly impressed with your quickly developing skills.
One question though, how much background histirical research did you have to do to get the all of the details on Vlad? I bet it was daunting task and it just go's to show you the commitment you have to the craft.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

I think I'm going to cry. Thank you so much Dennis. First off, I hope you had a great Father's Day. Second, the pearls were quite a daunting task. I had to stop a couple of times to get the circulation flowing back through my fingers. I appreciate what you said about the eyes. I try my very best at them because I believe the soul is held within the eyes. And if you don't get that part right, you'll end up with something less than what you were striving for. I am so impressed that you even noticed the buttons. Al in all, I am so pleased that you commented on this picture. I have been obsessed with Vlad since I was 10 years old. I have read so much about him throughout the years. I admire him (not his methods) . He brought his country to peace from the Turks and he should be commended for that. So, I do my part by drawing him. The Dracul Family Crest is How they chose to symbolize "The Order of the Dragon" . That's what Dracul means... dragon. And Dracula means son of the dragon. Okay, I'll be quiet now and let you get back to work. Thank you ever so much.
