This is a great piece. The wings and their poses are great. I really like the border too. The faces look really innocent though because they are so round. Maybe if the faces were harsher and unfriendly it would work better?
Well, the woman's face is based after mine, which is quite round... It's also half-covered so any harsher lines have been skewered.
The man's face posed some difficulty for me. I did try making his face more angular, but it didn't fit at -all- with the mood, and it tended to make his head look way too small for his body, because he's looking down... At any rate, I agree. The faces aren't quite right, and are my least favourite part of this drawing. Thanks for the insight!
oh well. None of us will ever make a drawing where everything is just as we wanted it. Especially with faces. It is so hard to get them just right because facial features are so delicate and subtle.
I think my main problem was the angle. I'm going to have to get people to pose for me in order to get it even close to correct... *pout* But I still like it, nevertheless. Usually faces are easiest for me... But not lately.
yes that definately is a very tough angle. Recruit your friends to pose for you. You could also get some of those japanese pose books. They are quite useful.

I'll be recruiting my boyfriend. He doesn't object too much, since I let him teach me how to wrestle and fence (of course, that benefits me as well... )
Right now I'm saving some money up for new pencilcrayons after buying a bike... I'll have to put pose books on my birthday wishlist for next week!
