Actually, you could sort of do that- put the little guy on a mountain which hides a pump for releasing steam. IT would totally be cute ^^

hmmm..I am going to have to keep that one in mind. Thanks for the tip. I was going to make one an incense holder where the smoke comes out their nose and what have you but I haven't figured out how to rig the armature yet.

The thing that keeps it up right? I've had a *small* look into clay work, but haven't delved into it yet so my knowledge is poor.

What do you use to make the shape? I get a little scared of clay cause it drys up and stuff- that, and it's difficult to mould. I heard that there is synthetic ones, but I donno. It's expensive too...

I use a polymer clay that dosen't harden until you bake it and it is pretty reasonably priced. For the details I use clay tools and sometimes a pin. The armature is the "guts" made out of metal wire and tinfoil. dickblick.com has some reasonable polymer clay if you are interested.

Ahhh- I guessed right ^^ Does all polymere clays set in heat?

That I don't know for sure but I would lean toward yes. Dickblick gives descriptions with each one though. I have to make another dragon! I posted Gorbash today and he is sold already. I am working on another right now.

What? wOW- Really? How much do they sell for?
                • Dec 5, 2006, 4:36:08 PM UTC
He was my first dragon and I sold him for 25 plus shipping. I am working on another one and he is an inch bigger so he will be 28. I like to keep the smaller works 30 or under but there is a LOT of work that goes into them. Gorbash took me 4 days to sculpt, bake and paint.

I was just going to say that $25 is VERY reasonable. Even in New Zealand dollars, being origanal, that would convert nicely ^^ I'm almost tempeted to buy one if I hadn't just looked at my bank account O.o I gotta stop buying comics!! XD

No seriously- in the new year, when I have money, would you sculpt me something? I'd sooooo love that ^^

LOL! Thanks, some people exclaim like I asked them to donate a kidney! I am making more and I always do some every once and a while so I will have plenty in the future. Though the next one is going to be red Wink

Oh! I looooove Red!! :3 I'm a big fire fan ^^ Are they all similar in shape, or is the red one going to be differnt?
                        • Dec 5, 2006, 6:09:18 PM UTC
The red one has a longer neck and is actually free standing. He also has yellow eyes. He is also 4x4 in

Cry Yeah- I could be kicked out of my house anytime between now and Febuary- when the buy pays for the house. Apparently their house is on auction this week. If it sells, I'll be flatting by new years Sad On the brighter note, I'm moving to a 3 acre section in Kumeu- a BEAUTIFUL veiw, huge house and lots of fresh air and space Smile
