What sort of people buy them and what do they use them for? Decorative or are they worn? Is Mardi Gras a big time for you?

Can you tell I've never met anyone who professionally made masks?

[Art] Frost Dragon Mask

Well...at most of the shows I do & in most of the galleries, the masks are bought by people who are just into decorating with them. Or they collect them. SOME shows & galleries (like the one I just got into in New Orleans) do promote them as wearable art.

I design almost all my masks to be wearable. I like people to use them & have fun with them.

Cirque Du Soleil bought one of my designs specifically because I DO make them as wearable art. So I guess it's good to keep that option open.

There aren't too many of us maskmakers out there...we're modern-day anachronisms. Gotta say though, I love what I do for a living. Smile

Yeah, it seems like an art that is both necessary and somewhat never seen. Sort of like, hand blown glass. A throw back to the past.

I suppose if I were to ever request one, I'd have to go with a phoenix of some sort.
