Yay! A heroine who's black! Wooooo! This is a gorgeous portrait, by the way. There aren't enough black heroines in sci-fi and fantasy literature. It's like all the authors out there just forget us. We're adventurous people! I've only read one book that featured a black female. She wasn't human (elf) but it was interesting to read about her.

White authors who only write about white people are like black authors who only write about black people. In most cases, it's not a conscious choice, it's just what that particular author finds attractive, or, it's simply that's what comes naturally to them. They rarely consider writing about differant ethnicities, 'cause really, why should they? A person being black doesn't change their character (at least, it couldn't). Though, I AM getting sick fo reading and looking at the pale "beauties." And, really, even when dealing with dark skinned ladies, they're usually closer Halle Berry's complexion rather then an actual African's (which I think is so beautiful).

For this, I specifically used my friend, who's relatively light skinned because it's a futuristic story, where there are no more pure bloods, everyone is pretty much mixed, meaning this is as dark as most African's would come.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm glad you like it.
