The face of the girl has some alignment and proportion issues. The mouth and nose seem crooked and the eyes seem too small or the head is too large.
I would suggest spending some time sketching heads to get a better handle on proportions. If you do a google image search for "head proportions" or "face proportions" you'll find a plethora of diagrams to help you see the measurements and relationships of the features.
- tear ducts should align with the corner of lips - space from edge of eye to edge of head should be less than the width of the eye - space between eyes is about the width of an eye or a little larger
The shape of the horse head also has some issues. Sketching out some horse heads with basic shapes before going into your final illustration can help you get a feel for the proportions.
Thank you! I knew there was something off with the face but wasn't sure how I would have fixed it. I'll definitely need to do some face practicing. And I'd never heard about the tear ducts and the corners of the lips before...
