Brief biography: son to a pair of rogues—your father a dark elf, your mother a shapeshifter—it's easy to say you didn't have the typical childhood. it, of course, had its... complications, but at least you can say it was quite likely better than your parents', based on the stories you've heard. their baggage hasn't been lost on you as you grew older. learning to parent couldn't have been easy, growing up an orphan among other orphans. growing up with a cold enigma of a mother, instilling an identity crisis into the deepest recesses of her psyche since birth. you can say that have both of your parents, and there is no notable identity crisis to speak of (you think) despite taking after your mother. but their old habits will die hard, and not before some of them get passed onto you. a thief will still occasionally steal. a shifter might sometimes take advantage if an opportunity presents itself. and you were raised to be adventurous and independent. so you managed to sneak your way onto the premises of one of the nearby town's local wizard shut-ins. secretive for a reason, you discover, as your poking about takes you to a hidden room, and a crack in your reality to a different plane entirely. you may be a little in over your head...
