He would help the crew try to pillage villages, both coastal and inland, but the attempts almost always ended wrong and comically. But, one fateful day, they tried to raid a trading port, but his captain, Jean De Fritas fell, a stupid mistake, De Fritas was like a brother to Wren, and it was his fault for the death, a knot wasn’t secured right, so it unraveled, causing Jean to fall to his death, on a guard’s spear. Wren ran, knowing what would happen if he stayed, he was sixteen at this point.
After a month of running, he found a cave, a shallow, small thing, he set up tent there, hiding, living in constant fear. His first encounter with magic was an unknown mage, who Wren saw start a fire with his bare hands, to this day it sparked an interest in magic that has never stopped. He wants to figure out a way to combine magic and technology to make the world safer. But of course, that’s all dreams. His hopes lead him into the study of technology and magic, Wren hoped that he could find clues to bring his dead friend back, and maybe reform the crew.
At age seventeen he left the small life he had made for himself, eager to learn about the world, learn the ways of the races, the cultures of the world, and pursue his own path, and face try to find his once crew. Even find his parents, if at all possible.
