Born from a very magical family, yet was gifted very little of such talent, Egon is a studious and ambitious wizard who takes pride in his work even if it is quite lacking. 

After furthering his education, he bought a decrepit old tower with his familys money in a podunk town and became a hermit, studying undisturbed from the world at large. 

Due to his natural curiousity and ambition, when portals started to appear around the town, he took it upon himself to eagerly look into the matter.
