in the AP wiki page it is mentioned that when a character reaches the rank "adventurer" they gain the access to portal challenges. is this required from now on (or for portals opened before introducing ability points)? i was planning on submitting a piece for the halloween portal, but only being in the process of getting my character approved at this time, that rank is not really something achievable within the portal's deadline for me.
