Cory finds herself somewhere new. Obviously, she must be prepared, right? 

Wrong. But she figured she would be fine to throw some caution to the wind.

Cory is gifted something for the first time by her parents. She'd always been taught that with every thing received comes a price, so she probably should have suspected that as soon as she got that gift, she'd lose something of equal, or greater, value. So she says goodbye to them both.

Another "offering" from a traveler wanting to pass through Cory's land proves to be more interesting than she first estimated.
