Danovan on Fire: Pyromancy and the Extinguish Enchantment

Danovan stared into the Dreamflame as he let the aroma of the spices it was burning wash over him.

He saw himself stepping through a portal to a world ruled by metal birds. The shops around the area were labelled in an unfamiliar language and sold strange mechanical devices including one that had a similar effect to the Dreamflame but was clearly under the creatures control.

The scene changed and he saw himself casting simple flame arrows at what appeared to him to be archery targets but they extinguished the resulting fires. That passed quickly.

The third scene showed him having taken over the bakery which was larger and more prestigious with a team of assistants.

The scenes faded, the Dreamflame having burned itself out. Three possible futures but he wondered which would be his.

The following day he discovered the answer as he found himself at an archery range. He ended up practicing with a mix of mundane arrows, arrows lit with fire magic and Magical fire bolts, all of which he had to extinguish. When he returned home, he decided he needed a solution to that, the self extinguishing enchantment he thought he had seen in his vision.

He started with a log he wished to enchant with his flame extinguishing spell, so that he could practice. It took several attempts and he had to cast the spell manually during these but by the end of the month he had mastered it and was ready to enchant something more practical.
