X-men: Ascension: Ascension

In this world. There are two kinds of races at war. Both inside and out. Mutants and humans. Mutants who only want to live in peace and avoid the wars and fights brought on by hate and prejudice, blend into society and hide away. Others who are ready to stand for their beliefs and defend themselves even if it means being dragged into chaos, take their sides. There is however a side in the middle. The Mutants and humans that coexist, some not knowing they are mutants.. others learning by accidents. In Manchester New york, on the streets of the boardwalk where stores are, the sides will finally be seen by the young ones who can control the destiny of the world with their gifts. THose who side with what they feel is right and look for peaceful resolves, and those who side with their own and fight vigorously for them to be treated with respect and fear.""
We start our story in the mall, before an incident changed this young girls life.
The girl wandered the mall slowly, peering at the stores. Her shoes were well worn, but though they were rough, and boots, you could tell they were used but cared for well and slightly too big for her feet. Socks rolled up to protect her legs from wearing them, and a pair of jean shorts that barely were above her knees. Her creme sweater was oversized, as it was fall, and she had on a dark brown tanktop beneath it. She had just stepped away from a coffee shop, and held her cup of coffee in her hands, savoring the smell of it as she made her way to a bench and sat down, crossing a leg under the other as she peered at other people, and sipped it slowly.  Her hair was long and dark brown, and she had a smile on her face.
among the people in the mall several had gathered around a man in the middle preaching. He along with a thug like man and woman beside him looked out to them all as he spoke. "The foulest of the foul walk among us! The pure beings of this world are tainted with  the sin of mutant kind! my people we are not to be fooled by our brothers and sisters! they themselves are friends of mutants! Save your humanity and your souls! cleanse your neighbors, their children, and everyone with the power of Faith. My name is Pastor Faith Cassidy! I am here to preach his holy word on how to free your family from the curse that is the mutant plague!"  He showed vials of what appeared to be white liquid as the crowd gasped. "This is his weapon! the Liquid Angelus! With this you can break down those who would strike at thee! I show you now the power!" he picked up a vial and gave it to the thuggish man. The man grabbed it calmly drinking then gasped as his muscles grew and he growled a bit but kneeled as they all looked on in awe. In a test of his power the woman pulled out a large cinder block on a table. The thug growled and shattered it with both fists crushing it into dust. The crowd gasped and started to mutter some praying while others looked on in awe. A smirk came across Faith Cassidy's face as he began to speak. "You see!? my people the lords blood flows within my followers veins! It shall save us all!"
The girl rolled her eyes at the theatrics. "What a load of crap..." She muttered. "If anything they probably just work out a  lot."
a man in full armor walked through the crowd smirking as they backed away hesitantly. He shook his head and gave the preacher a death stare. "Oh wow lookie here! someone thinks that their "cure" can save humans! hah! what a load of rocks!"  he pointed to the thug. "You! come and try me!"
She peered at the newcomer, with interest, wondering what the preacher would try now. The Preacher looked a bit frightened then smirked and laughed until he laughed loudly that the entire mall seemed to stop, "Foolish mutant child! Your powers are nothing against the gift that god has given me! My faithful retainer! Show him the truth of the lord!"
The thuggish man walked in front of Avalanche  who laughed and shook his head. "It seems you have a death wish! dont worry ill make it painful! hrah! " He rose his hands as the crowd backed away and the thug stopped. Nothing however happened. Confused he tried again to summon his powers but still to no avail. He looked on in shock as the thug walked closer. "W-whats going on! why aren't my powers working!"
The preacher smirked. "The Lord has shunned the devils powers within you my child, Now feel heavens reckoning!"
The thug rushed up and pounced on a confused avalanche beginning to pummel him mercilessly. Avalanche  himself rolled the thug off and rushed forward tackling him as the two began to fight but the thug was more powerful by the minute and glowed with a white aura seemingly getting bigger in muscle and had avalanche on his knees. Faith smiled and walked over next to the thug. "Let your life be an eternal peace mutant. My follower will send your soul to heaven if you side with my cause."
She frowned, watching this, but rose up to stand and then jumped the preacher from behind, trying to help the other get free by holding a gem blade to the man's throat. "How about you both let him go now instead?"
He looked at her a bit then smiled. "Oh I see, another of the foul demons spawned from the fires of hell to fight the lords followers?! Shiva!" the woman from before appeared behind the girl and quickly pulled her arm in a back lock. The same aura from the thug was around her and slowly drained her power. The preacher sighed, "Such a sad one of the devils beings. Interesting power however. Maybe you could be useful.."
A beam of red light shot in his face and blasted the preacher back as the thugs gasped next being hit by the light beam and tumbled into the podium. The Preacher growled looking and blinked seeing a man with sunglasses appear and looked to him sternly. "Y-you!?"
He fixed his glasses as they shined red. "How about you give it a rest, pastor."
The pastor growled standing up with his goons then shook his head and pointed to him. "An X men! the Messengers of Evil! led by that blasphemous manipulative... guh!" He felt three blades towards his back and looked terrified.
A man appeared behind him with a deep sharp toned voice. "Say one more word bub, I dare you, your lungs won't be able to beg your god for mercy."
He looked over as his two followers were sprawled on the ground unconscious then gasped looking to a woman. "By the heavens!"
she laughed and nodded. "I've been called worse. how bout you preach somewhere else today?"
The girl stared at them almost in question. "Who the hell are the x-men?"
the preacher growled backing up as the three of them stood around him. "Heathens! blasphemous abominations! you and that wretched xavier! The lords children cant be beaten by... guwha!" suddenly he was lifted up and shaken. "Ahghh let me go! let me gooo! "  materials fell from his pockets including vials and several mixings.
wolverine walked over and picked a few up. "Steroids mixed with energy packs. Your about as much as a preacher as I am the pope. What you got here could get ya in all matters of trouble. Trying to give this to children? looks like gods got a devil in sheep clothing."
the man was put down as Cyclops pressed on his watch. "Jean, thanks. lets leave it to the authorities now."
She shook her head and started to make her way off, trying to sneak away. "I..have no clue who these people are, but I don't need the trouble!"
As she moved away a woman stood in front of her transforming a bit and smiled. "Ah there you are... ive been looking all over for you. Time to come with me for a while. " she grinned. "try not to make it difficult. " she showed a pistol on her hip. " if you do.. ill put a hole in your hand and drag you off."
She stared at the woman, in surprise. She held her hands up defensively, taking one step backwards. "Looking for me? But I don't even know you! "
she nodded and grabbed her hand. "I am Mystique. Leader of the brotherhood of Mutants. Thats all you need to know. Lets go now before those X morons see us shall we?"
she growled and pulled her along Mystique: "so little questions so little time.. oh." she looked seeing Rogue ahead "great. Looks like were doing this the hard way. " she pointed her gun to the girls head "come closer and she wont be of use to you either."
Rogue sighed and shook her head. "what happened to you Mystique, yall used to be a good group but now your doin dirty work for anyone who will dish out the money."
she shook her head Mystique: "Dont lecture me "Darlin" you and your X men are the ones in the spotlight, causing mutants like us to turn on eachother. So what if I sell a few to get by, will you save us from extermination now that Magneto is dead?"
she blinked Rogue: "What did you say? Magneto is dead?"
before she could react Mystique pointed her gun at Rogue and fired causing her to flee back. The gunshots caused everyone to scramble as Mystique took the girls hand and rushed towards the exit with now a recovered Avalanche following "get to the car hurry!"
The girl looked to her wide eyed, but used her free hand to pull out another gem weapon from her back and slashed at Mystique's hand, trying to break free of her hold. "Oh hell nah, I'm not getting sold by no one! Let me go!" She tried to yank backwards, stopping moving and digging in her heels.
Mystique was taken off guard as her hand was slashed and let go and pulled away holding it glaring Mystique: what on earth? is this her powers? shes not the one were looking for... but she is a mutant.. bury her alive Avalanche. she rushed out the door as Avalanche walked forward laughing
he rose his hands as the earth around her began to shake and walls started to fall above and beside her closing in Avalanche: No offense but ive got to make you a splatter on the wall. Dont worry ill make it quick... hurgh! he suddenly was shot by cyclops beam as the x men moved forward and surrounded her. Rogue looked to her calmly Rogue: you all right darlin? let us take care of this.
Avalanche backed away stopping his attack Avalanche: sorry Mystique I aint being paid to fight three of these fools. See ya! he pressed on the ground causing an earthquake and made gravel block the door as he made a retreat
Cyclops growled Cyclops: they got away.. but what were they after.. either way we stopped Faith Cassidy from putting that gunk out on the streets. he looked to the girl then to Rogue who is she?
Rogue shrugged Rogue: Dont look at me, I saw Mystique tryin to take her away, so I figure someone she needs.
She looked at the gravel, then to them , and threw up her hands in frustration. "Great, now more people know I'm a mutant. Now I have to move all over again, just great - "She muttered to herself as she looked to them exasperated. "Thanks for saving me but thanks for making it worse too! Now I have to start all over again! Geez!" She grumbled and made her way towards the nearest exit.
Wolverine moved in front of her Wolverine: hold up kid, you got some talkin to do, how about you start with tellin us what you know.
Cyclops moved beside him Cyclops: Stand down Wolverine, shes frightened you dont need to scare her anymore. You said you have to move because your a mutant, what if I tell you I can take you to a place where you wont have to worry about that again?
She backed away from Wolverine a few steps. "I really don't know anything! That blue lady just showed up, claiming i was the one she was looking for at first, but when i slashed her with this to get to let go - "She waved her gem dagger to show them. "She said something about me being the wrong one but still a mutant , and that other guy tried to bury me with rocks. I don't know either of them and I don't know you either. So what the heck good with a place like that do me  when I'd still have to worry about surviving against other mutants? No matter where I am?"
a voice of a woman came to her mind ???: you wouldnt have to face them alone anymore, you wouldnt have to worry each night about them finding you. Mutant or human, you would be able to freely live and find what you are looking for the most.
She frowned. "Get out of my head! Maybe I wouldn't be alone or have others to face with - but there's nothing I'm looking for badly enough to want locked up! It's bad enough I ain't even human, without dealing with more trouble!" She shook her head and tried to step further away from them. "Besides...why should I trust any of you??"
the voice faded as a woman walked up behind the group ???: because we wont lock you away. It is your choice and we respect that.. but know that those people are only the part of the bigger problem. This incident will cause even worse things to come.. people are one thing... but there are worser things to worry for now. I am sorry you were thrown into the spotlight but now.. the ground shook around them its too late... their coming...
overhead of them in the sky light shadows appeared of monstrous figures. The group surrounded the girl as three shadows appeared larger than the mall itself. Cyclops changed his glasses to his visor growling Cyclops: sentinels..
"What in the heck are those things!?" The girl looked up at them in awe.
Cyclops looked around for an escape route Cyclops: we cant fight them, not right now. Hurry people! He rushed toward an exit breaking the door with his beams as it flew off the hinges and waved his hand towards them. The group headed out as Jean opened her hand to the girl Jean: please theres no time. These machines dont know mercy, and we cant protect you from them here.
The girl reached her hand out to Jean, taking hold of it and hurried to rush out with them. "Alright!"
she smiled gripping her hand gently as the group moved toward the exit and headed up the stairs. A large hand busted through the side of the stairway shaking it as Wolverine growled and jumped on it slashing away at it. Cyclops growled as the hand was pulled out of the rubble Cyclops: Wolverine! what are you doing!
he yelled out to him Wolverine: im stallin for time, get the kid out of here!
Rogue rushed off after him Rogue: yall gonna need more than just you to take on these bulls! ill keep him covered till were ready!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: this wasnt part of the plan... fine! lets go people! he headed upward along with the group to the top of the roof in front of the X jet
he waved his hands Cyclops: everyone get on! the group rushed onto the jet as the others strapped in. Jean strapped in the girl and looked to her Jean: dont worry it will be alright.
the girl nodded , but felt nervous and unsure, as she was locked in with the rest. "I hope so.."
Cyclops looked ahead and growled Cyclops: heads up people! We got company. ahead of them a giant sentinel landed on the roof as it cracked but was suddenly thrown off by Rogue who flew by waving to them. Cyclops started the jet up as it began to lift off and fly but now another sentinel moved to intercept only to have its head ripped open by wolverine who jumped off it and landed on the back of the X jet. The door opened behind them as he walked in with a torn jacket along with Rogue.
Wolverine spat a bit of oil at his feet and sat down Wolverine: Did ya miss me? lets get out of here!
the jet fired up its engines and took off into the air with two sentinels in pursuit. Cyclops growled Cyclops: their following us!
The girl looked to the sentinels, but popped off her seatbelt as she stood up, looking around as she pressed the button to open the roof hatch. She let the winds cause her to rise up into the sky, as she pulled off her sweater and revealed her wings. Spreading them out, then sending them backwards, she sent a flurry of feathers out at the sentinels, as they hardened into diamonds, trying to slice through them.
the attack rushed forward slicing the heads and passed all around the sentinels finally reaching the boosters on the legs and caused an explosion sending the sentinel down. Another aimed its hand cannon at her and prepared to fire but Jean rose out her hand and sent the last two crashing into eachother. One fell as the other recovered and moved to  overcome the plane but suddenly stopped and retreated leaving as the door closed. She sighed and looked to the girl Jean: that was incredible.. you stood up to that machine with no fear.. you are very brave to fight off a sentinel.
Wolverine smirked Wolverine: she brought down a tin can with diamonds.. maybe Mystique was lookin for the right kid after all.
Cyclops yelled over to them Cyclops: everyone sit back down were headed back home.
the group arrived finally at a mansion with the ship landing behind the house. The pool had transformed into a landing bay and they walked out one by one with Jean walking with the girl. once they were outside the bay slowly descended with the X jet and transformed to normal. outside they looked to her as Cyclops spoke Cyclops: im not too good with this.. but Jean you can take care of her for now right? show her to a room shes probably still got to recover from all this.
Jean looked to him Jean: what about you Cyclops, you need to recover yourself. The professor would--
he growled Cyclops: another time Jean, I have to figure out what Mystique was really after. Theirs more to this than what it looks like. Wolverine, you might need to go search around.
Wolverine growled at taking orders from Cyclops but huffed Wolverine: all right cyke but dont go given me orders. I will do it my own way. I want a bit of revenge for those tin cans ruining my day at the mall anyhow. he looked to his fist and grinned maybe a bit of "information gathering" will make it all better. he walked off then into the mansion as Cyclops followed.
Rogue looked to the girl and smiled Rogue: dont worry yall's pretty little head about this sug, no ones gonna come after ya with us around. Besides yall's got some interestin power, no one would wanna fight you. See ya later honey. she flew off into the sky heading to the top area of the mansion
Jean closed her eyes contemplating a moment then looked to the girl to follow her into the mansion Jean: its okay ill show you where you can stay. lets go shall we? she led the way walking.
The girl followed after Jean, pausing a moment in confusion. "Alright.." She was still a bit in shock about what was happening and confused as well, but decided to learn more about the place before making any more decisions.
As they entered they noticed no one was around. The area was quiet. Jean looked around and shook her head Jean: where is everyone? Scott? Logan?
Cyclops rushed to her and looked around Cyclops: the school is empty.. we left Colossus to watch everyone along with Storm. Beast isnt back from his trip and Jubilee is still at her drivers test.
Rogue rushed in and looked to them Rogue: hey yall better hurry up out front! we got trouble and all the kids are watching it too!
Cyclops looked to her then walked up the stairway staring outside then gasped Cyclops: whats HE doing here!? whats going on! he rushed down the stairs and headed towards the front door
Jean looked confused Jean: who is it Rogue?
Rogue looked to her Rogue: no time, come on to the front yard! she flew after Cyclops leaving the door open. Cheers and yells were heard in front as if a brawl had started
Jean looked to her Jean: im sorry come with me. she headed out the door
She looked to her in confusion - but ran out the door to after her, wondering what was happening and curious for who it might be.
outside in the front yard the kids of the school seemed to surround the area in front cheering as a growl was heard and fighting was seen. As they moved their way in front a barrier of gold light stopped them. One student seemed to make the barrier surrounding the two inside. Jean looked wide eyed Jean: oh my god.. is that... Juggernaught!
she looked to see who he was fighting. Juggernaut charged at the person head on only to fall face first into the barrier. He stopped and took his helmet off grinning Juggernaut: yer pretty good kid! I dont expect much from a wimp like you but you got something! heh im startin to get excited.
the person looked being revealed out of Juggernaut's shadow. His short blonde hair and gold eyes catching the eye of many. He patted his cheeks and smiled ???: your always making a fuss Mr. Cain. Look what your doing, im gonna get expelled for sure.
Juggernaut laughed and readied to throw a punch smashing the ground but the boy swiftly dodged now him throwing a flurry of punches back doing nothing to Juggernaut. Rogue landed in the middle startling the kids a bit as one stopped her barrier and Cyclops moved in front of the kid with Jean coming over as well. He grinned Juggernaut: heh took ya long enough X maggots. Been waitin for hours here where your service?
The girl peered from around Jean at the tall man and then towards the boy, still confused. "Who are they?"
Rogue growled Rogue: tin head! you got some nerve attacking a child at our school yall got five seconds before..
the boy moved away from them standing beside Juggernaut and shook his head ???: back off my pops. You all should act like teachers not bullies.
the group looked on completely shocked. Jean: what did you say?
Rogue looked stunned Rogue: did he just call the Juggernaut.. pops?
Cyclops moved into the middle and looked to them Cyclops: those two father and son? And I thought my family was terrible.. what do you want Juggernaut! you cant think that..
The girl shrugged. "I don't get what makes him bad, he looks like a bodybuilder or something.."
Juggernaut roared Juggernaut: quiet pipsqueaks! MY SON is talkin! He saw you guys in the news the other day and now for some reason thinks your "heroes" the boy gots it in his head. And seein as I dont really have time to "educate" him I think yall owe me one. But dont go sayin were friends! an dont go talking about this to everyone or ill turn your school to dust again ehhehhaha!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: you, who were the brother of professor Xavier, you who destroyed the school many times and put alot of good people in hospitals and graves have the nerve to ask US to take care of your child!? what kind of monster are you to even have a child! how do we know its not a ploy to get us to lower our guard! your not a "model" citizen!
"What kind of jerk holds it against the kid, Mr zap eyes?" The girl spoke up. " you seriously going to blame him for his parent?"
He snarled as the two squared off but the boy stood in the way and shook his head ???: pops lets try this again.. he looked to them my name is Xavier Marko. I dont wanna be called Xavier so call me Veir. I decided to be a good guy and take on my uncles first name, in his memory of course. But look I aint one of your lackeys and you cant diss me like them either.
Cyclops looked confused as the group stayed silent Cyclops: the same name as the professor.. so then you.. he looked to Juggernaut who laughed
Juggernaut turned his back a bit Juggernaut: dont look at me four eyes, I didnt choose it. I would have named him Kurt, but the old man wasnt a role model to me or that puny Xavier. Dont know why the kid chose it but then again I dont care. Now listen up! Imma be stayin here a bit too seein as I have some business with you twerps.
Rogue looked stunned Rogue: hold on yall, YOU stayin here? what would make us want a wrecking ball in the house? yall think your gonna just do what yall want here?!
Cyclops waved his hand Cyclops: alright.
everyone looked stunned as Juggernaut smiled Cyclops: your worried for your kid right? theres no way you'd come here for nothing at all. But on one condition. NO helmet. If you so much as lay a finger on anyone here ill have Jean melt your brain to a puddle in an instant got it?!
he huffed as Veir shook his head Veir: do that and im liable to turn everything here into dust.
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. he looked to everyone everyone get back to your rooms. Jean, Rogue watch over the kids and take our "guest" to the war room. Im going to find Colossus and Storm.
the kids scattered and walked off into the mansion waving to Veir who smiled waving back then looked to Jean, Rogue and the girl Veir: if im going to be taught by yall, maybe life here wont be so bad.
Rogue rolled her eyes Rogue: another wanna be smooth talker, Peh.
What does he mean taught? - the girl looked over at them. - you mean this is a school?!
Jean nodded Jean: its a school yes, a school to help learn your powers and more. Not your average school as you can see. We also take in people in need. Dont worry its free for all right now.
Juggernaut smirked Juggernaut: you jokes are takin in all sorts of trash these days I heard.
Rogue looked to him Rogue: we have to if were takin in you.
Veir looked to them Veir: aw come on now, how are we all gonna be friends if were already calling eachother names. he looked to her you there, girl whats your name?
The girl looked to him skeptically " Just call me Gem. Its the only name I have. "
he looked to her Veir: Gem huh, heard better names on a box of cereal.
Juggernaut laughed along with him Juggernaut: hahah good one kid!
Says the jerk who's nickname sounds like a damn perfume. - besides can't help mine, its all that bastard dad of mine Gambit would call me! - she huffed.
Rogue blinked Rogue: wh-what did yall say? Gambit GAMBIT!!?
Jean looked shocked Jean: Gambit had.. a daughter..
she looked as Rogue flew off in a rage Rogue: if i find that stupid cajun I swear im gonna... where is Gambit!
Jean blinked raising her hand to her as she dissapeared into the sky Jean: wait Rogue!
Veir laughed along with Juggernaut Veir: what a joke. I heard you X men were bad but geez. And this girl here psh. Looks like trash anyway. Why not toss this girl out of here and take someone with potential besides I dont even think anyone would want her, her own father left her and her mother must have been worse! hah!
The girl rushed at Veir quickly trying to tackle him as her wings hardened to diamonds and she tried pinning him to the ground with her feathers. "Say that again as this trash won't hesitate to slit you r damn throat if I had to survive to do it. Besides unlike you ; ya freakin Daddy boy, I ran to protect my dad and take care of my damn self;"
he grinned Veir: so easy to rile up I see.. suddenly his body transformed into diamond and easily pushed her off him then shook his head how can you protect yourself with that iota of pride still there. Your gonna die faster than you think kid.
Jean looked to him Jean: your powers are diamond too?
Pah . he's able to copy whatever is used. Pain in the freaking ass! - she grinned but tackled him again , this time rolling with him as she tried flipping him into a fountain.
he rolled with her and dived into the fountain disspearing then reappeared as rocks outside the fountain he then waved his finger Veir: whats the matter is that all you got? ill show you "Copy" he formed a rock from his hand and shaped it into a diamond blade lets try a new game. poke the wholes in the diamond chicken.
before he could however he was pulled away by jean with telekinisis
she lifted him in the air as he looked around Veir: damn telepathy! You didnt say nothin bout telepathy pops!
she kept him in the air looking to Gem Jean: are you alright Gem?
I'm fine. And diamonds ain't my only skill. - She grinned and snapped her fingers , as his gem blade turned red hot.
he dropped the blade as it bursted sending diamond pieces in all directions. juggernaut was hit with them but stood unaffected as Jean blocked them with her telepathy. He growled Veir: you think that was my own mutant curse too? his eyes shined as he vanished and reappeared in front of Gem. Im a whole evil festival! he shined as his body transformed into solid metal mixing with wires and machines and his eyes glowed purple. His entire form changed now and he glowed holding a blade made of pure light
Juggernaut whistled Juggernaut: alright kid thats enough!
he blinked as it faded instantly and he transformed into his original form then huffed Veir: I hate this girl.. he walked off towards the house
Jean looked to him and shook her head then looked to Juggernaut helping Gem Jean: hes.. not your child is he?
He smirked Juggernaut: not in the slightest. That kid aint my boy. No mutant like that is mine. If he was id have em kill all of you but for some reason hes takin a shine to ya, and whats more your all gonna need him.
Gem shook her off. "Can I just go...? And sorry for the shards.. " she walked towards Juggernaut intending to pull it out. "I got carried away.."
he wiped off the shards and looked to her Juggernaut: not bad kid. You did good to stand up to him though. You scared him really heh! first time ive seen him do that in a long time. Last time was when I tried to kill him as a child. Heh! didnt work well for me! he walked off towards the house
Jean looked to her and back to the two of them Jean: those two.. are dangerous.. whats more.. I cant read their minds.. I think that kid is doing something to my powers..
Rogue came back lowering her head a bit still in a fury Rogue: the Cajun is gone.. dont know where.. ill find him..
she walked off as Jean looked to her Jean: Rogue..
Why were you so mad about dad?- the girl spoke up.
Rogue Looked to Gem Rogue: that dirtbag aint a man in my eyes.. a real man wouldnt have kept a girl waitin.. or given her a ring on her birthday.. wherever he is.. hes got alot of explaining to do.
she walked off in a fury
Jean looked to Gem Jean: you may not know this.. but Gambit and Rogue were supposed to be married soon. He left recently on a mission however and we havent seen him since.
Oh... That explains a lot, though I doubt he knows I'm still around. Ran away when I was 10. Haven't seen him since. Didn't say anything to him either. - she explained.

A voice broke up the talk on a loudspeaker Cyclops: everyone to the war room, including students. All of you need to see this.
Jean looked to her Jean: everyone?.. this doesnt sound good.. lets go. she held out her hand
Uh ? Where is the war room? - she took hold of her hand in confusion
she nodded leading her inside. As the two walked down the winding hallways others seem to head all in the same direction towards the area. Once they came in front of two large doors passing through the crowd of students the could see now Cyclops, Rogue, Colossus and Storm sitting at the table with Juggernaut and Veir at the corner of one side. Most of the students stayed at the sides as they all gathered around. There was  tense and ominous feeling through the area as Cyclops began to speak Cyclops: things are..worse than we thought.. and it looks even worse for you he pointed to Gem
Uh why is that?- she asked
he pressed a button on the front panel of the desk as a news report came up. A woman reporter started to speak Newswoman: Terror at the malls. Witnesses believe that mutants attacked a well known Priest today. Faith Cassidy is in the hospital due to severe injuries. Reports say that his body was nearly fully encased in a diamond like substance. An anonymous source gave us this photo. a photo of Faith being held bladepoint by Gem was seen many suspect this mutant as one of the terrorist in league with the "brotherhood of mutants". In response the outcry has been voracious for her execution and a city wide hunt began from Anti Mutant rallies.
Seriously?! But I never encased that creepy priest and he wasn't even hurt! - she frowned, yelling out in surprise
Cyclops nodded Cyclops: we know that.. but someone has been manipulating the authorities.. whats more.. you might have accidentally done it.. storm show her.
storm held up a vial of the same thing Faith had given Storm: do you remember this?
The vials the followers drank? - she asked. What about them?
she nodded Storm: this was what he drunk after he left the area. Its reactants contain a material that reacts to mutant powers. she held out a small slither of diamond then placed it into the vial. Immideatly it encased the vial and she dropped it as it shattered
So the idiot encased himself by me defending the other guy?! - she groaned.
This is why I avoid people in the first place!
She nodded as Cyclops spoke Cyclops: you were just defending yourself.. however what is more confusing is who had the camera.. and more than that only you were being watched. if I roll back the footage.. he showed a footage he had from the security cameras of the mall. The camera showed when she held her blade at Faiths neck then he moved to zoom in on a figure near a wall in the corner. They held a camera and were taking photos as well as recording. After a closer look they noticed it to be Toad you were set up.
Set up for what reason? I mean they didn't even know I had powers at first! - she asked.
He nodded Cyclops: we might know why too. Mystique thought you were her target right? she has a way of using everything at her disposal. More than that she was mistaken.. again you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.. and knowing her she is using this to draw you out and stain the X men as well. Your just being used as a scapegoat.
But doesn't that just mean her real target was already there at the same time...? Shouldn't you be worried about them? - she asked.
Cyclops nodded Cyclops: We were originally tracking down two targets at the mall ourselves. Faith Cassidy and a mutant that had been there earlier. The trail ran cold however..
Veir began to laugh then laughed even louder Veir: heh... hahahahhahaha... hahahaha
the group looked to him along with everyone else as Jean spoke out Jean: this isnt funny Veir..
He shook his head Veir: ahhah oh.. but it is.. you see. I am the one you guys were looking for.. I happen to be at that mall earlier and well.. I sold a few things you might hate me for...
Juggernaut blinked Juggernaut: wait.. that stuff you got from.. oh!! hahahahaha you little rascal!
Can I please just go...then? If he's who you were looking for then no need for me to stay. Right? she sighed
Cyclops looked to her Cyclops: hold on.. he looked to Veir what the hell did you do?
he shrugged Veir: dont be so mad. That little Tonic that that fake preacher had.. heh it wasnt nothing but something I whipped up.
Cyclops stood up and growled Cyclops: that drug could have killed everyone! how could you...
he waved his hands Veir: dont worry. Its nothing but water. It will wear off in less than an hour.. my powers have a bit of a problem you see... I need to vent material after a while..
Juggernaut laughed Juggernaut: nothing like a bit of piss in a bottle to make someone mad. haha.
Ew.. Seriously! She laughed so they drank your piss?!
Veir nodded Veir: had to go to the bathroom.. and didnt have any open.. the old man came wandering by.. I could tell right away he was no good. so i transformed my pee into a super tonic for a little bit.. heh.. too bad it wont work but thirty minutes then it tastes like it was.
Juggernaut nearly fell over laughing Juggernaut: hahaha damn kid you are worse than I thought!
only the two of them laughed however. Cyclops was looking in a rage Cyclops: does this seem funny to you? a man in a hospital people rioting you making this girl a pariah for nothing?  A JOKE!?
Veir shook his head Veir: I am not the one who tried to play hero and stop him. Besides if anything you should be worried about that mystique character. Doesnt she know where this place is?
Cyclops thought as Jean looked to him Jean: Veir what do you know?
Um, the man in the hospital will be fine. Just hose some water on him. It dissolves. she shrugged. "If he got hurt. Its only cause he tried to move while stuck.
He nodded Veir: shes right.. besides you should be worried I gave a call to Mystique and a few of those Anti newts.. I thought it would be fun to see what this place could do..
Cyclops growled as the students gasped and others spoke Cyclops: what... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!? IS THIS ALL A JOKE TO YOU?!!
Veir shook his head Veir: no not at all.. your gonna need my help.. i expect this to pay for my entry into this "School". About a hundred humans and maybe infiltrators will be here soon.. I pretty much called everyone... except the hippies.. hah
Cyclops growled slamming his fist on the table Cyclops: dammit! ...everyone get ready for them. he walked off
Storm gathered the students and headed them down to a safe room while the other X men started to move to the defense. In the rush Veir only smiled looking around Veir: go ahead and do what you think will help. Pops and I will be right here.. once your ready to ask for help just give us a call!
To prove your power you put everyone in danger, on purpose... Are you insane?! she stared at him openly
he smirked Veir: no not really just bored. suddenly the area shook as a shell blasted the wall of the house.
a map came up as a warning sign came on the screens. Jean looked opening a video feed and gasped wide eyed. Outside the gates a mortal from anti mutant rallies shot at the house Jean: this is..
Veir shook his head Veir: thats something I didnt expect. Haha their starting with Mortars.
inside people broke the gates and headed toward the house as another mortar shot the walls. Colossus stood outside and blocked their way through with a fence pushing them back. Guns were suddenly shot as bullets rang off his metal body
Jean looked as several people ran towards the side of the house with ladders and climbed up towards the windows only to be blasted out by Storm who sent wind forward and knocked them down
several people threw in Molotovs starting fires and others rushed forward while cyclops and rogue put out the fires
Jean looked to Veir Jean: why did you do this? what are you doing?
He shook his head Veir: im proving a point mostly..
suddenly sentinels now appeared flying down shaking the building as they landed.
Jean blinked Jean: are you serious?
they moved to break into the roof overhead of them. Veir smiled Veir: their not after me.. I hope you got something more than diamonds to stop them.
She growled. " great... Again!" She flew up at the sentinels sending a flurry of red hot gems at the sentinels. This time as arrowhead shaped rubies that exploded on impact. And sprayed acid on them. As well.
the sentinels were destroyed melting and falling over causing damage but more began to land and fired on her. She was protected by jean who formed a shield barrier overhead only for the sentinels to focus fire on it. Jean Jean: Veir! I know you can do something about this!
Veir smiled Veir: Maybe.. beg me.
she growled as Cyclops appeared Cyclops: Jean we need help.
She looked and blinked as he held up a gun Jean: Cyclops!?
suddenly he transformed Mystique: its time to die X men.
she fired but Jean was quick to put a shield up and collapsed the wall in front blocking mystique out by rubble
Gem frowned and sent turquoise shards down at the sentinels. Letting the shards burrow in to the newcomers metal hides and set the turquoise to explode ,releasing the water inside to collapse on batteries within. Causing shockwaves of electricity to burst out.
the shockwaves caused the sentinels to short circuit and explode but also damaged the equipment around her causing doors to open everywhere and lights to go out. More sentinels could be heard from overhead however Jean: ungh... Jeans nose started to bleed as she kneeled down Veir.. please.. I beg you.. do something..
Veir smiled as Juggernaut nodded Veir: alright.. since you begged so nicely.. he stood up and closed his eyes then opened them as they glowed purple then seemingly smashed the air shattering it Veir: time breaks down!
suddenly the area grew dark and shattered. millions of pieces rained down of the reality then light vanished from the area
The area then came back as everyone sat at the table and it seemed to reset to where they were all in the war room. Looking confused they all stared to him
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: what happened..
Jean looked as well confused Jean: what.. did you do? Veir.. did you... did you manipulate time?..
He smiled huffing as his eyes and nose bled Veir: no... I changed it.. I made us jump into another timeline.. one where I didnt make the calls.. one where everything happened.. but I.. made changes.. the incident at the mall didnt grow into something big..
the group looked shocked and confused Veir huffed and smiled Veir: think of it like heads or tails.. one reality we all got screwed over.. but in the other.. we are fine.. I went to the other.. heh
So only we remember what happened now? she stared at him in shock
he smiled Veir: everything that happened before still happened I just took us out of the bad timeline and into the good one... I... he fainted as Juggernaut grabbed him. Veir bled crazily
Storm and Colossus took him quickly passing through the crowd to the medical room as Jean and the others tried to make sense of things Jean: he was able to take time and change it. Were in the same reality but he broke part of time off and sent it here while replacing the other time.
Gem sat down then, at a loss for words. Juggernaut shook his head Juggernaut: its confusin to me too but every time he does it he nearly dies and is in a bed for a day.
Jean shook her head Jean: his physical body cant take that kind of stress. Hes the strongest mutant ive seen since many.. but each time he uses powers.. she looked to Juggernaut does that mean he..
He smirked Juggernaut: now your gettin it. Each time he uses those abilities he loses part of his life. The kids used it three times.. he wont be ageing for a while heh!
Jean looked to Cyclops Jean: his body is broken.. its not just that.. something is.. preventing him from using his powers..
Um... If I can take a look, I might be able to help with a part of that. I can heal too.. the girl spoke up
Cyclops stayed silent for a bit Cyclops: we should dismiss everyone. Everyone go relax for now.. Jean you and Gem go to the medical room. I need to have a talk with Juggernaut. Privately.
he grinned as everyone left. Jean looked taking Gem to the medical room as the doors closed and locked. Inside Veir was being watched over by Colossus and Storm with tubes in his veins and a breathing mask. The heart monitor was hooked up and his heartbeat was normal. Storm looked to them Storm: hes stable.. but he doesnt seem to be waking up..
Gem made her way over to Veir, placing her hands over his injuries very gently, as she made them glow warmly - though a soft purple glow covered her hands,looking different then the dark red shown during her attacks. She focused on where he was hurt, and started to close his wounds by healing them, having the glow spread out over his body as she did so.
his wounds healed and the bleeding stopped but she could see several slashes and nicks all over his body. Most of them seemed to be by a whip and worse. Jean looked to them hesitantly Jean: all these  wounds.. their from beatings and.. worse.. I recognize them.. did Juggernaut do this?.. It makes sense with how much he hates mutants..
Gem shivered, noticing them as well, but didn't say a word, as she pulled her hands slowly away when she'd finished healing him. Jean shook her head Jean: he was able to put up barriers from me reading his mind.. but little by little.. some is seeping out.. she focused her powers a bit and spoke it seems.. daily he was beaten till he was old enough to fight back.. but after some time... he started to gain Stockholm syndrome and began to hate himself.. thats why he called his powers a curse. It explains him a bit.. looks like he got back at juggernaut too.. what he did to him.. he made him ribbons of flesh for a day.. this is too much she stopped and sighed this boy is very powerful.. hes dark too.. if he hadnt seen us.. then he might have become worse than Legion.
This feels like an invasion of his privacy...even if you wanted to know his past, this feels wrong to just read him that way. What if he didn't want you to know about it? -The girl spoke up.- Not to mention - even....even if he's dark so what? That doesn't mean just because he had a bad past, that's he's a bad person!
She looked to her and nodded Jean: I understand.. but with him.. its different.. hes reaching out to me.. he invited me to see. It wasnt more of an invitation.. but a cry for help.. He also.. well she closed her eyes hes trying to read me as well..
Storm blinked Storm: how is that possible? your powers are stronger are they not?
she nodded Jean: yes but.. for some reason hes able to invade my mind.. its as if.. he is copying me like a mirror. i had to pull back.. Veir.. he is as strong as Xavier and dangerous as well.. he also told me something to tell all of you. "to find Gambit go find the frog in Grayson Movie center. Its where the Brotherhood is based at."
Gem shrugged. "I did tell you he copied powers. That's how he used mine...but...why is dad with the brotherhood?..and hey, can he hear us then?" She blinked, looking to Veir. "Thank you, Veir... either way. And, sorry..."
Jean nodded Jean: well hes dippin in and out of reality. I can feel his mind vanishing a bit. He has his own reality as well? no.. a collaboration of fakes? Its too hard to think about right now.. at any rate we should go to the Grayson Movie center downtown. Its been shut down for a long time but if the brotherhood are using it as a base then we have to scout it..
Cyclops walked in growling Cyclops: Everyone. We cant take him in. As soon as hes head get him out of here.
Jean looked to him confused as did storm Jean: what? why?
Cyclops glared to Veir Cyclops: this kid.. hes a timebomb. His powers alone are enough but he is not X men material either.. hes apparently killed many people and changed reality. Treating peoples lives like a plaything is not what this school teaches!
Jean stood up and looked to him Jean: Cyclops! he needs help.. dont you remember Wolverine was once the same way.
he growled Cyclops: yeah and look how that made him! he still doesnt trust us and we dont trust him either!
"If he's out, I ain't staying either - judging someone just because of what they did to survive?? Screw that and you too!" Gem spoke up then. "So what if his powers are strong and dangerous, all of our powers are in a way and capable of killing people if need be. And, if you won't trust him just for his powers, then why the hell should he trust you anyhow! I don't even trust you neither.  I'd rather trust him who survives and tries anyway, then trust you lot that don't even get what it takes to do that!"
he sighed a bit and turned his back Jean looked to them Jean: everyone relax. Right now hes in no condition to move.. more importantly we should focus on gambit. He might need our help.
Cyclops nodded Cyclops: I know that hes at the Grayson Movie center. Juggernaut told me that and more. Apparently he found the kid in a forest area. The entire area was metal as if it was torn right from reality. Whatever.. for now Gambit is priority.  Ready the jet people were heading there. he looked to Gem yo u may not agree with the way I feel or do things, and you can judge me all you want.. but I will protect this place and all it meant to the Professor. he walked off leaving the room
jean sighed and looked to her Jean: please dont take it personally.. if youd like you can come with us.. storm nodded noting she would stay as Jean walked out the room
Gem debated about it for a moment, but sighed and followed Jean out of the room.
Jean waited for her and smiled as they headed to the X jet. They geared up and took off heading toward downtown. Cyclops activated the stealth mode and autopilot while they landed on the roof. Jean, Cyclops and Rogue took the lead and scouted the place. Rogue flew down looking around as Cyclops and Jean opened the door heading down the stairs
Gem followed the other two down the stairs and made her way quietly after them.
as they went further down talking was heard ???: Toad you idiot! a womans voice could be heard. They hid behind an old torn robe in the cinema how many times have I told you not to kill my costumers!
the group spied on Mystique and toad talking to eachother as a body lay on the ground of a tuxedo'ed man lay dead. Toad: Much apologies Mystique this bloke just didnt have a good face, tasted worse too.
She hissed at him Mystique: you fool he had the vials we needed of ITS blood. Now we'll never find where he hid them! Do you know what X Tinction will do if they find out we dont have it?!

Toad shook his head Toad: we aint got nothin to worry for my lady, we still got that Cajun casserole to give to em!
Mystique nodded turning away thinking Mystique: true.. and Meldioh is reading his mind as we speak. We'll get the X men codes as well. If we can get into Cerebro then its a win for us. Finding that kid will be the least of our worries.
Avalanche walked into the room with a grin Avalanche: hey you might like this.. The ground feels a bit heavier. Like something is on the roof.
Mystique blinked Mystique: are you sure? is it them?
He nodded Avalanche: the weight got heavy, like a jet.
She grinned Mystique: is everything ready? wheres Pyro?
He nodded Avalanche: he got it all set up. This place is going to be the startin point.
She nodded Mystique: yes it is.. Magneto will be back.
Cyclops growled as the fabric tore in his hands. The noise was heard by toad who spat acid at the fabric revealing the group Toad: oy there! nice ta meet ya!
the group was surrounded quickly as they prepared to fight. Mystique walked toward them and noticed Gem Mystique: its you! your back for more? or did you want to join us? they would be a nice gift to X Tinction.
Gem frowned at her. "Like I give a crap what's good for you! You would have had him kill me last time, just because I wasn't who you were looking for." She grinned. "Maybe a trade then? One of them for that crap ass my dad the Cajun? Or you know, how about the codes instead? "
Mystique blinked Mystique: the codes? for Cerebro?! you have them..
Cyclops looked to herCyclops: how did you..
Jean waved her hand Jean: wait Cyclops.
Mystique looked to them then sighed Mystique: its fine.. I could always kill you and take them myself. your surrounded and you cant escape.
Gem grinned more and pulled out the papers, along with a ruby, throwing them both down at the same time and melting the codes she had taken, with her acid. "Not if the copy is gone, and I have them memorized. Besides, I could just kill them myself as well, and then where would you be? Not able to read their minds, and they ain't likely to trade. They'd rather die with their loyalty intact. I have no such thing."
Mystique smiled and shook her head Mystique: you just made a big mistake. Mastermind my dear could you come out now.
a tall man walked out and looked to her calmly Master Mind: im here, you had better pay me after this.
She nodded Mystique: all in due time my dear, Is he ready?
he grinned and glowed Mastermind: he is.. go get them gambit. Protect the X men.
psionic cards were sent flying at them. Cyclops blinked pulling everyone down as they exploded and Gambit rushed forward under mind control sending more out at them. Mystique and the others fled the area while they began to fight. She looked on to Avalanche Mystique: bring the whole place down, If i cant have the codes no one will.
he nodded shaking the building as it started to crumble. Cyclops looked while shooting down Gambits cards Cyclops: Jean! you and the girl stop gambit, I have to stop avalanche from bringing this place down on us!
Jean nodded as she moved to one side of Gambit and spoke to Gem Jean: we have to stop his attacks long enough for me to focus on him and break the illusion.
Gem nodded and focused on her father, sending feathers at the cards to cancel them out, with her own explosions. "Got it, let me deal with the cards!"
he countered sending cards at her throwing waves and waves until he surrounded her in cards. He snapped his fingers and exploded ones above her to send gravel down at her. Jean blocked it forming a barrier around him then focused on him Jean: Gambit wake up! its us! he shook his head and shook off her telepathy though then jumped forward at Gem and pulled out his staff swinging it at her
She blocked the staff with a gem dagger, holding it up against his staff. "Dad snap out of it!!! "She yelled at him. "It's gem, I'm gem!"
he swept her feet and rose his card toward her but stopped hesitantly shaking his head and almost was drawn out of the illusion. He pulled back now and slipped cards in his index fingers and gripped them throwing twelve cards at them a minute.
She lay on her backside, but grabbed handsfuls of feathers out of her wings, and tossed them at the cards, to counter. "STOP ATTACKING ME! I"M YOUR DAUGHTER_GEMMA!" she yelled at him again, ignoring the pain of yanking them out.
he pulled back his staff and dropped his cards as the illusion broke then softly spoke Gambit: Mon Bijou? Mon Fille! he rushed forward but now the roof had fallen down at her. In a quick instant he moved overhead and tossed cards at it before it could fall on gem destroying it then looked down at her what in the devils name are you doing here child! where am I? oh man my head is spinnin!
Jean looked to them Jean: theirs no time! Avalanche!
Cyclops focused his beams on Avalanche who had but a barrier of earth around him and focused more on bringing the building down. Pillars began to fall as he started to laugh Avalanche: take this X men a good burial for all of you!
Cyclops looked back to them Cyclops: get out of here!
Avalanche continued to laugh but Rogue bursted in and destroyed his barrier grabbing him and flying out tossing him in a trash can then crushed it around him keeping him inside it. The rumbling stopped but the building still began to fall. Cyclops: lets move people! he headed up the stairway towards the X jet with the others in follow. They made it just as the building collapsed and flew upward landing on a building on the other side. Gambit shook his head still dizzy from Masterminds attack while Rogue brought Avalanche up toward the group and set him down.
Gem looked towards her father, suddenly feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
Cyclops walked over to Avalanche and growled Cyclops: talk! Now!
he laughed Avalanche: Hahaha im not scared of a schoolboy! dont you got a badge to win four eyes?!
Rogue lifted him up furiously Rogue: if yall dont talk ill tear one of your arms off and feedim to ya right now!
he gulped Avalanche: gah alright alright just get this she demon off me!
she dropped him as he landed flat on his face then groaned Avalanche: ungh.. Mystique is rebuilding the Brotherhood. Promised Magneto would be back.. he aint dead or something. She made deals with X Tinction and Trask about it too.
Gambit nodded Gambit: I was sittin in on one of her meetins. Looks like she gotten in good with more than that. Talked about an Omega Mutant.
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: you should have warned us about this earlier.
He shrugged Gambit: it was too hot to break my cover. Sides, I had other things to do too.
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: like what?
he pointed to Gem Gambit: been lookin for her, heard she was around here, and I aint gonna let nothing stop me from gettin to her.
Jean looked to Avalanche Jean: how does she plan on bringing back Magneto?
He shook his head Avalanche: I dont know.. all i know is she needs both Xaviers blood and Magneto's blood. Whatever shes doing shes got everyone trying to get the codes to Cerebro too. Its big. You X men wont live to see it though. Theirs a new Sentinel out there thats deadly.
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: what are you talking about? New sentinel?
he nodded Avalanche: yep its got powers like a mutant, only one of its kind and its an infiltration type. Can blend it like every other mutant. You wont know its there till your dead and its targeting ALL the X men.
Jean looked confused Jean: how? Mutants cant become Sentinels, their DNA wont mix with the components.
He shrugged Avalanche: apparently theirs something that is makin it easier. And Seein as one is already made it looks like were not the top of the food chain anymore!
Rogue looked to him Rogue: what does it look like? how can we track it?
Avalanche laughed Avalanche: its already around you, might be someone you know, could be someone you dont. Heard any sad stories lately? It can manipulate people you know. No one can stop the monsters Trasks thinks up. Frankenstiens got nothing on it!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: We need more than that! where is X Tinction! Wheres Trask!
Gambit looked to them Gambit: I couldnt track X Tinction but I do know where Trask is, Base Fifty one near the Airport. A hidden Military base. Hes makin those monsters there. He has taken mutants that Mystique gathers and uses them as pigs. My chere was on that list.
Avalanche shook his head Avalanche: WIthout Magneto its the end of mutant kind, and without Xavier's words to calm the humans were already dead.
Jean shook her head Jean: This group X Tinction.. I think Wolverine might know about them,
Cyclops looked to her Cyclops: are you thinking.. a splinter group from Weapon X?
she nodded Jean: it would make sense.. but where is Logan?
a voice came in from the radio on the jet ???: anyone... out there... gone mad...
Cyclops moved to the jet and picked up the radio Cyclops: repeat! who is this?
the voice responded Colossus: Colossus... gah.. need help.. Juggernaut... gone mad.. Static torn down... everyone is in trouble.. more.... kid.. gone insane too..
Cyclops tried to focus the signal by fixing the radio Cyclops: what! Colossus! what did you say?!
the voice came in more clear Colossus: Juggernaut is destroying the school! the kid took the children away! It was a trap!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: no... NOOOOOOO He shot through the roof of the X Jet in fury the kneeled down and looked back at everyone lets go now!
the group headed to the jet however Gambit stayed holding back Gem Gambit: sorry this is where we get off.
Jean looked to him Jean: Gambit?
He shook his head Gambit: im not sendin my daughter to a war zone, you can forget that.
Jean shook her head Jean: Gambit, I dont think you have a choice.. she pointed to Gem
he looked to her shaking his head Gambit: you don need to get wrapped up in dis, you need to run an keep runnin.
Gem looked to her father but wriggled free of his hold or tried. "I 've been running for years,! How long should I keep running and to where??" She shook her head. "I have a bad feeling and if Veir is there, I want to try to help stop him! Or save him or both. He's the only reason I was able to see you again anyhow! I owe him that much!"
He looked to her confused Gambit: what are you sayin? have you been takin dips in the bayou? Out of the question cant let you go there! Savin people aint our style! This fellow sounds like a lot of trouble anyhow he blinked wait a moment.. he.. hes the one! he looked to her you aint goin near that kid again you hear me? he aint no kid.. its the Sentinel!
She looked to him. "I don't give a crap what he is - or isn't, and saving people may not be your style - but I ran so those anti freaks wouldn't find you! Wings ain't easy to hide when they get bigger every year, and I 'm going to find him whether you like it or not. Maybe ....maybe we can stop him or something if we can convince him to save us instead! He did it once, he's not all bad...!" She flew out of reach of her father, into the sky in the direction they were told.
He looked to her Gambit: Mon Cheri.. hm well I see.. fine with me. Yu old nuff to take care of yourself now I suppose but then again I aint got a right to tell ya what to do in the first place. Alright well go together. First sign of trouble im pullin you outta there. he hopped on the X jet
the group moved out as Avalanche was struggling to get out of the can Avalanche: damn it!.. left me here! Mystique is gonna kill me! * a shadow appeared behind him* what.. who.. oh... no! wait! uuuagh! the shadow descended on him as blood was seen and faded away with him
Meanwhile the X jet approached the school that was nearly completely torn down and landed in the yard. Juggernaut rampaged around the house destroying the left wing. Cyclops rushed out of the X jet with the others following. He moved in front and yelled out to him Cyclops: Juggernaut! What are you doing?!
he looked over to him half his face mechanized then put his helmet on and started to charge toward them. They scattered as he bashed into the X jet tearing it in two and caused it to explode. The explosion sent them flying back as he walked out of the fire with red eyes and charged again at Jean but was stopped by Colossus who was half metal and being mechanized by only touching Juggernaut. He looked at them Colossus: stay back he is insane! someting is making him lose it!
Jean looked to Colossus as the mechanization grew bit by bit Jean: what.. what is that! Colossus!
he shook his head Colossus: break his helmet! if you can tap into his mind then he cant rampage! guh! he was picked up and tossed by Juggernaut but then Juggernaut was blasted far back by Cyclops into the ground
he looked to the group Cyclops: Everyone focus your attacks on his helmet!
Gem sent slicing waves of her diamond shards at the helmet, trying to break apart what remained of it.
the diamond bounced off of him with a few shards hitting the mechanized part and caused a crack to slightly appear. He growled into a frenzy and started to glow transforming more. Jean blinked Jean: the mechanized material is weaker than the original material... the Gem of Cyttorak cant protect that part.. the more he mechanizes the more the metal grows weaker!
Cyclops nodded and fired at the helmet shattering the whole a bit more but Juggernaut kept going then jumped and slammed his fist down on the ground creating an earth wave and knocked everyone down as well as causing the secound wing of the building to collapse. He then rushed forward at Gem and charged with a punch but Gambit was able to slide under him and trip his feet up making the punch miss her and crush the earth beside her causing his hand to get stuck '
Gem hurried slashed at the mechanized part of the helmet's hole with her dagger, trying to poke at the metal, then yank to make it exposed.
the hole slowly recovered and now the metal worked its way up her dagger in a rush
She growled and changed her dagger into a ruby, hurriedly letting go and flying back as she snapped her fingers and had it explode after glowing red, sending acid down at the metal.
the metal regenerated too quickly however and he pulled his hand out again nearly being fully mechanized. Jean shook her head Jean: if it takes him over completely we will lose him.
Cyclops growled and moved in front as Juggernaut moved to target the group Cyclops: ive had enough of this.. everyone move!
the group scattered as Cyclops shot his beam out at Juggernaut Cyclops: you think you can take everything away from me! you wont win! youll never win! he took off his visor sending his full power out at Juggernaut. The blast incinerated the mechanized parts and tore a whole in the ground as it expanded and blew through the yard. A large deep range was dug up from the yard and Juggernaut collapsed as his helmet shattered. Completely unconscious while Cyclops closed his eyes bleeding from them both. Jean rushed to his side as he shook his head we have to.. save the children..
Colossus moved over to him and looked noticing Cyclops's eyes had burned cracks in his skin as Jean put on his visor Colossus: comerade Cyclops!..
he shook his head Cyclops: it doesnt matter!.. all that matters now is the children.. what happened to them Colossus!
he shook his head Colossus: the kid teleported them.. I dont know where they are.. but Cerebro can find them!
Jean nodded and quickly flew towards the mansion while Gambit and the others recovered. He sighed and looked around Gambit: dis doesnt feel well.. got something goin on that dont fit right.. aint no way Juggernaut got that strong from a sentinel.. no way trask can make that either.. somethin else is goin on..
Colossus looked around then to them Colossus: wait.. where is Rogue and Storm?
Cyclops looked around Cyclops: Rogue.. he pressed his communicator Rogue come in! where are you? static was all that was heard someone is picking us off.. another Sentinel? no..
Jean reappeared and looked to them sighing Jean: Cyclops.. I know where they are.. everyone is there.. not only the children, the brotherhood, and even more mutants. Their at The Nevada base.. Area 34.
He nodded standing up but staggered a bit Cyclops: we have to get there then.. he looked as the area started to grow dark and night settled in infiltrating that place..  the only way to save them is to be quiet..
Gambit looked to them Gambit: when we get there ill take point then. Gambit's gonna show you how to be a theif.
he nodded and pressed a communicator on his belt calling the Spare X jet from the hidden base. It hovered and lowered down as Colossus looked to Juggernaut Colossus: what of this one Cyclops?
he growled Cyclops: toss him somewhere far away from the mansion and make sure he has a hard time even getting close to here.
Colossus nodded Colossus: danke..
the X jet powered up as everyone got aboard and started its way off towards the base. Inside the jet Gambit looked to Gem Gambit: gonna be hard to watch your back here, dont let em surround you.. sure to have plenty of sentinels as well..
Gem looked to him. "I'll be careful... but you too. Don't go getting killed. Besides I heard you were supposed to get married soon. Or so I'm told."
he blinked Gambit: where'd you hear dat! aint nothin for children to know. sides Gambit gonna be smart about this one.. he waved his hand and aint ready for marrin.
Gem rolled her eyes. "Sure...but you forgettin' I'm almost an adult by now too," she laughed, slipping up a bit. "And you know if you love her , it's nothing bad. But seriously, be careful."
he blinked Gambit: you talkin too big for yourself, Gambit already tol you not to say anythin he blinked noticing her fingers you aint got my ring? whered you put it? iz the one you made a long time ago gave it to a good frind to give it to you if she saw ya.
She blinked, thinking then. "Wait... is Rogue your friend?"
he smiled Gambit: you met her eh? she someone special to me alright, dunno why she so mad though. Gambit always gone for a while, had to bury some past work and get dat ring off a friend back in the bayou.
Gem stared at him. "So you didn't make me wait on purpose...? Ah for cripes sake, and you got Rogue thinking you two were going to marry too and she thinks she been waiting too. and you didn't even have a clue!"
he blinked wide eyed Gambit: you foolin me! Aint no way id... ho lordy me.. she aint takin my words straight! dat girls too much brawn sometime we goin settle this soon but right now..

the X jet moved close as the dark settled and only below a bright light from the spotlights could be seen. Down below elevators raised up rows and rows of sentinels unactivated two were only active guarding the area and scanning as jeeps rolled through with materials. Gambit shivered Gambit: cripes sake!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: their not even trying to hide them.. the Sentinels were outlawed a while back by the president.. why are they still in production? the X jet landed outside the perimeter as the group walked off. Gambit looked around ahead walking then stopped and rushed toward the trees but held off being backed out of a bush by claws
he shook his head Gambit: hold on now.. no need to stab ol gambit!
Wolverine growled walking out of the bushes Wolverine: Good News Cajun, your not on my list today.
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: where have you been?
he looked to them Wolverine: Tailin those X Tinction goons, found them all here in their rats nest. What say we play exterminator?
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: we cant go crazy Wolverine, they have the children.
he growled more Wolverine: thats exactly why we should go crazy. No we should be hunting heads. Goin in there quiet will just make them feel at ease!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: we cant let them know were here!
he shook his head Wolverine: you do it your way then. I'll start carving up tin cans. They aint movin so it wont be hard.
Cyclops growled but sighed Cyclops: theres no changing you is there? fine Tough guy.. just do it over there.
Wolverine smirked Wolverine: good huntin, he rushed off and cut a way through the fence as Cyclops looked to the others
he looked to Gem Cyclops: you should be lookout.. its too dangerous to go in there and we may not be able to cover you all the time.
Gem frowned. "Look out? Seriously? I'd be useless with the jet , I can't fly it if you need to escape. " She shook her head. "Besides, I'd be a sitting target as in and what's to stop them from sensing me if I stay a sitting duck in a metal trap?"
Gambit nodded Gambit: got ya there mon ami. Takin her wit us is safer dan leavin her here,
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: Jean will be here, shes keeping an eye on us with her powers. Im only saying..
he nodded Gambit: I get what yer sayin but dont keep a bird in the house when it wants to fly capitan. I'll keep an eye out for her.
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: fine.. but were doing this as a team. he smiled to her "got it Gemini? " Gem frowned but nodded.
he nodded and waved his hand Cyclops: lets go.
he headed off with the group leading through the cut fence. Gambit headed through the way towards the door after disabling the camera. He hacked the door and opened it discreetly with the group following them. As they hid away from the guards and made their way deeper into the facility, they reached the main control room. Cyclops looked around Cyclops: no ones here.. these controls are all automatic.
Gambit nodded and searched through the files Gambit: only a few people in here workin the machines.. looks like X Tinction aint even real.. these files say somethin else..
Cyclops looked to them Cyclops: what.. what is this?.. "New Sentinel Project cover: Clean.. Project Onslaught underway." what could it mean?
Gambit shook his head Gambit: nothin good if there makin decoy sentinels.
Cyclops split up while Gambit continued to search the computers.  A small noise was heard in the other room that only Gem heard
Gem split off from the others, stepping off into the other room after hearing the sound to find out what it was.
on the other side a monitor room could be seen with a man talking to a monitor ???: your program is flawed Veilion. The New Sentinels only are working for thirty minutes! after that they revert to the original mutant! what am I going to do with that! I told you that the mutant DNA isnt compatible with this!
A mechanical voice spoke on the other side. It was both familliar and not ???: my program into the new sentinels is not flawed, this body is just having a hard time adapting the program into others, it works well on humans modified like that Juggernaut. However the Mutant genome is not fully mapped yet. You must continue to give me more mutants so I can keep trying. The more you give the less likely they will adapt and overcome it.
the man banged on the table ???: thats not good enough Veilion! I know that you are part Bastion but you are not working fast enough for me either! that mutant body cant be that hard to tame! you got it as a child!
the voice spoke again ???: Trask, you know that using the X men as decoys were only part of the program, The real test was seeing how the dna in this body would react to their presence, and as I suspected its true. The host memory cells remember what this body ONCE was. It has recovered and fought back, its full power has been blocked by my mechanized nanites but each time the host body breaks down after using its power. I can only send it into shock so many times before it is drained.
he growled Trask: you are a machine! dont assume to think you can order me, much less know what it means to have "Emotion" or know what that body was. Not even I know what it was and I spent years trying to dissect it! it was only a few months ago that it used its power to teleport from me and it was a baby! a baby!
the machine spoke once more ???: Precisely which is why I need more time to test my nanites on the mutants. It is clear that the host has both memories of the two of the most powerfullest mutants known to man but without the dna... wait.. their is a disturbance.. sector five..
trask looked around shivering Trask: you have to protect me, I haven gotten the sentinels running yet! the download isnt complete!
the mechanical voice spoke ???: I cannot move from this spot until the nanites finish their work. You are on your own Trask, try not to die yet.
the monitor vanished as he growled and pulled out a gun walking towards the other room
She pulled back into the room where the others' were. "Pssst! Trask is coming this way!" She hurriedly told them, throwing a roll of tape at Cyclops to try to get him to turn around."
he looked to her and nodded as the group hid in the shadows. Trask opened the door and walked forward looking around then moved to turn on the light and gasped as he did having gambit knock the gun from his hands and push his staff against his chest. Cyclops and gem came from hiding as he sighed Trask: X men.. how convenient..
Cyclops growled Cyclops: where are the children Trask. Start talking.
he shrugged Trask: I dont know what your talking about... uuugn.. wait you cant hurt me! I am the only one that can stop him!
Cyclops looked to him Cyclops: stop who? what are you talking about.
He growled Trask: Veilion.. to be exact I dont know what it is but it says its the fusion of Bastion and a new mutant.
Cyclops gritted his teeth in anger Cyclops: Bastion!? we destroyed him!
He nodded Trask: Bastion was one of the greatest machine human hybrid sentinels created, he wasnt even my work and you think you can destroy him?! IT came from the future and fused with my Master Mold and that Nimrod machine. Theirs no one who could defeat it.
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: we did and its not coming back nor are those new sentinels.
he huffed Trask: that much I already know.. its trying to make mutant sentinels.. the thought is ludicrous much less impossible.
Cyclops growled Cyclops: then why help it? why do everything it says?!
Trask smiled Trask: if I can kill off a few mutants doing what it wants why not? the less of you the better for all human kind.
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: and let the machines take over? you do know hes going to kill you right?
he thought for a moment then started to breathe heavily and looked to them Trask: wait.. you have to save me!
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: unbelievable, just a minute ago you wanted us all dead and now to save you?
Trask shook his head Trask: you dont understand! its... augh.... nnngh! suddenly his body flickered and he pushed away gambit
Cyclops looked pulling everyone back as Trask started to transform Trask: emergenc..emergency order.. Sentinel Prime... activating..
suddenly two more sentinel primes appeared from the corners and surrounded them
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: this is what happens when you rely on your own machines. Trask I dont envy you. Everyone attack!
the sentinels began to rush forward and attack but suddenly stopped and were pushed against the wall by a metallic pull
Cyclops looked around as his visor started to shake and metals around them pulled in all directions Cyclops: it cant be... how is it possible!!?
The sentinels were crushed all along the wall as a voice filled their ears of professor Xavier Xavier: s-save me save me Save me SAVE ME X MEN ... X MEN
Cyclops covered his ears as well as gambit in pain Cyclops: what is going on... this is... crazy..
suddenly the room fell silent and everything fell to the ground. The metals as well as sentinels were destroyed but the monitor in the machine turned on revealing Veil hooked up to a machine Veil: you are too close to my final project.. you should all have stayed in the mansion living your lives. Pathetic Mutants!
Cyclops looked to the monitor Cyclops: what.. who are you? really! Bastion?!
Veil shook his head Veil: I am neither Bastion and not him. I am a completely sentient organic being. I am Veilion. However as of late you X men have been causing my systems to be corrupted.. Maybe I need to clean that up. suddenly a beam of light enveloped the group and they were transported
they were transported into the main area where Veil floated under lights reformed and new. He smiled looking to them Veil: welcome X men welcome Gem. Welcome to my Ascension.
What do you mean, Ascension? - Gem looked to him in surprise.
he smiled Veil: I dont expect you to understand. I barely understand it myself. I was nothing at first.. I dont know what I am or what I started out as.. but I do know that i was a memory. A memory of power and understanding.. Somehow I was attacked and absorbed into the boy you knew.
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: Bastion is dead, you cant be him, whatever you are your not him.
he nodded Veil: I know that and yet his will still tells me to kill all mutants!.. but something is wrong.. this body is not his either.. nor is his memories.. did you feel it when the room shook and the metal was lifted? the voice of the old man too?
Cyclops stayed silent and then gasped Cyclops: the professor and magneto.. what are you talking about? where are they!?
he shook his head Veil: I dont know! but their making it hard to fully cybernize this body! your mutants arnt helping it either. I tested out the nanites in my body on that buffon and it worked like a charm.. but the mutant geneome is impossible to predict.. so if I cant be revived into bastion then ill be something more.. A fusion of both human, mutant and machine! tubes rose up of humans and several of mutants both from the school as well as the brotherhood. Apparently he had taken every single one they met so far
Cyclops looked around in disgust Cyclops: you took everyone! what are you trying to do?!
he rose his hand and growled Veil : something you are not understanding! I am ascending!! he growled firing beams from his hands toward the group as they took cover then formed a protective shield of light
Gambit tossed cards at him but the light barrier broke them down into dust before it hit. Cyclops fired at him only to have his beams reflect and nearly hit the tubes. He growled Cyclops: I cant break through!
She thought for a moment, walking towards the barrier. Suddenly , she turned her entire body to diamond and tried jumping through, using the gem, to try to reflect the lights and distort them.
*he blinked and teleported from his barrier as it distorted and shattered. The machine warmed up and suddenly burned out causing the tubes to open holding the others. Furious Veil rushed for her avoiding Cyclops's beams and Gambits cards Veil: I have memories of the X mens movements and all their powers but you! I cant understand yours! he aimed his hand at her transforming it into a beam cannon you must be exterminated!! he fired at her a giant beam
Gem shook her head. "of course you don't! i told you, didnt i?! I don't belong no where! Not with the brotherhood and not with the x men!" She formed a curved shield of  diamond to deflect the beam using her wings as a massive shield and pushed towards him. "And why must I be exterminated?? What did i ever do to you?? except be truthful?"
he growled as it reflected the beam with her walking towards him Veil: impossible! you cant do this to me! not now! he changed tactics and fired out missles from his fingers you are not supposed to be able to do this! who are you! what are you!
She frowned. "I don't know myself. Dad called me Gem, the name is short for Gemma. I'm still the gem you met before. the street trash who never attended a school and knows nothing about the mutant world or how this works. ok???" She sent turquoise shards out at his missiles, electrocuting them to render em useless. "i'm just a nothing girl who met you and because of you got saved and dragged into all this! But i don't believe this is the what that body of yours wants.....Veir. or Veillon whatever name you go  by, you're you. what is your will in all this??"
he growled and roared shaking as his machine parts hummed and his body started to grow Veil: uuurgh... ahhhghh... what... what is this?... he looked to his hands my body.. is not responding.. purging.. me.. the machine.. no not yet! he rose his hands as they hummed and suddenly shaking was heard above as well as loud noises of fights
Cyclops blinked as the communicator came  on and wolverine responded huffing Wolverine: hey! whats goin on down there! all these tin cans are wakin up and goin crazy!  whatever your doin its givin me trouble!
Cyclops shook his head cyclops: this isnt us.. but im feeling a presence.. the professor is.. in the boy..
from the tubes Mystique woke up and looked staggering to stand as she broke out Mystique: not only that.. Magneto.. his power is in there..
Jeans voice broke out through telepathy Jean: Scott! everyone! theirs something coming! I feel profressor Xavier and Magneto in him but their.. merging!
Cyclops looked confused Cyclops: what?! how is that possible! Magneto is dead and the professor was vaporized!
Mystique nodded Mystique: your professor made magneto's mind slip into a coma, a dead like state for all eternity.. it makes sense his mind merge with Xavier!
Cyclops growled Cyclops: thats why you needed his dna!?
she shook her head Mystique: no.. I needed it for proof.. and to make sure of something. That this boy wasnt his offspring.
two voices spoke at once in veil Veil: I am not their offspring.. neither Magneto or Xavier.. His body glowed as it suddenly seem to have armor appear red and purple like magneto's but much more dark I am.. I am neither and I am more.. I am all mighty.. I am the only one who all you fear.. I am ONSLAUGHT!
Cyclops shook his head Cyclops: no! what in the world is that thing! guh.. my head.. its attacking my mind... everything is going white... he staggered and fell over
Gambit shook and growled falling over but held his hand out to Gem Gambit: run... run chere!
suddenly everyone started to pass out as Onslaught seemingly grew even more and the area started to fade away completely under his power
Gem passed out, falling over.
the area turned white as light filled the sky and everything faded. Suddenly she heard birds chirping. Wind blew all around her and she was in a forest
She blinked, looking around then. the birds chirped in the distance as she awoke to see a blue furry man humming he sat in a tree reading a book ???: i see your awake.. its good to see one of my students has been getting something out of my lessions.
Who the heck are you? And I ain't the student of no one. I don't even attend school! -*She snapped * Where's my dad? Where is everyone? What happened with onslaught???"
he looked to her and smiled ???: you forgotten me already? Professor Beast as everyone calls me. I rather not like that name. Seems like you were dreaming a wild story this time.. but that wont help you pass theature arts. How can you fight off this Onslaught if you cant even learn of Captain ahab?
Gem growled, feeling off put by the whole thing. "You can't be real! And where is Onslaught ?!" She repeated.  "Damn it, wake up me! I remember passing out then ...nothing. Damn it... " She formed a gem dagger in her hand and then tried cutting her other to try to wake herself up. "WAKE UP!"
Beast blinked and grabbed her hands trying to stop her and shook his head Beast: wait dont do that! why hurt yourself? that wouldnt wake up anyone just cause you more pain! calm down!
She shook her head, yanking her hands away from him. "Yeah well what else am I supposed to do!? I don't know you, you can't be real considering I was in a damn underground place, and I have to figure out what's going on somehow....! " She struggled in his hold. "Tell me where my dad is! Where's Veillon or on slaught or veir or what ever his name is! I need to find everyone, please!"
he blinked Beast: not real? if you prick me do I not bleed? if you tickle me do I not laugh? Merchant of Venice. At any rate suppose you are right? is this any way to act? ask for your father he is in the mansion. That would be out of this forest and right ahead. Strange how you seem to feel this is so real. Let us discover it together then. he let her go and hopped along the trees heading toward the mansion
She hesitated to head towards the mansion, and looked to the tree he was hopping along. Thinking, she formed a diamond dagger and slashed at the trees, expecting to hit bark.
the tree hit bark but healed up too fast. A quick glance and her dagger vanished but the tree was completely there
She frowned but rushed towards the mansion then, and tested out her idea more, setting a diamond dagger on the wall and backing away as she tried to explode it.
her diamond was reflected off the wall and bursted in the air due to a card thrown at it. Gambit walked over looking to her Gambit: mon fille!? what are you doing? Gambit didnt know we needed renovatin what is goin on?

She groaned , rushing over to him and checking him over. then shook him. "Where is onslaught??? WHERE IS EVERYONE! how did we end up at the mansion and why is it fixed???"
he blinked Gambit: have you been diggen to deep in the possum stew? what is an Onlsaught? everone's in the house doin what they usually do. Gambit startin to worry for your head fille. Still Gambit's feelin somethin off too. my bones are itchin and it aint the chili powder in the cookin.
You can't be serious! How do you not remember! We were underground. Trees should not heal themselves! Attack one and see what happens! - she growled.
he blinked then tossed a card at a tree. It exploded and bursted the tree but the splitters and pieces stopped mid air then reformed. Surprised he blinked Gambit: now I know somethins up! what in da world is goin on here?!
