Chapter 1: A Fight to Never Forget
Emma just came back from dealing with that oddly familiar caretaker. She took the package and threw it onto the carpet of her cold, abandoned house. Emma carried herself over to the couch and fell onto its cushions. Putting her hand on her forehead, she let out a tired sigh. Her mind was filled with endless pictures of that caretaker.
Why do I feel like I know them?
Her thoughts echoed against the paint chipped walls, making everything so….so….so….
Loud.
She felt like her head exploded, it was too much for her. Emma decided it was best for her to sleep, perhaps she would forget about it. She sauntered over to the stairs.
CREAK!
CREAK!
CREAK!
The stairs shrieked under the weight of Emma’s footsteps. As she was about to enter her room, she heard a small raspy voice.
“Turn off the lights.”
“Huh?”
“Turn off the lights.”
“What?”
“TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!”
The package screeched as it bit Emma’s flesh.
“AHHH!!!!”
Emma cried as she tried to pry off the jagged teeth of the package. Her body met the wall as she collapsed into the ground. Emma dug her fingernails into the carpet fibers and gave a huge kick to the devilish box.
It flung across her, smashing into the door to the bathroom with a deafening CRASH!
Emma forced herself to stand, using the wall as her cane. Limping slowly over to the box, she grabbed a small toy and chucked it. The toy attacked the package with a THUMP!
It didn’t move a muscle, nor did it breathe.
“It’s dead…” she muttered as her blood pooled at her feet.
It’s time to clean up.
also i love the word "sauntered"
