Chapter 1: ~ The Song ~
To be sung to the tune of “It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas
To be sung to the tune of “It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas.” This will probably make the most sense to you if you're from southern Michigan… but I think mostly everyone can relate. =)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Here in Michigan.
Take a look at the fallen leaves,
Dying and broken trees.
It's icy, sleety, slushy streets again.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Soon the gales will start,
And the emptiest thing you'll feel
Is the echoing appeal
Of your breaking heart.
There's power outages coming,
And noses are running.
The car froze up overnight.
Wake up at seven,
No light 'til eleven,
Oh, what a terrible sight.
I hope to God that Santa Claus
Will make it here alright!
Pouring rain in December's so depressing.
Cold without a flake.
There's a hovering sense of gloom
Covering every room—
A dismal feeling none of us can shake.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
All the sky is gray.
But the awfullest thing of all
Is we know the snow won't fall
On Christmas Day.
