Falling: Chapter 1

Falling, falling. Always falling. He could not stop. He tried screaming yet no sound came out. He looked up. The top of the cliff seemed so far away, the man who had pushed him off was like an ant. He looked down, the rocks were coming towards him quickly, too quickly. If he fell onto them he would be dead instantly, impaled on the tops of the pointy, hard pinnacles. He let out a scream and BANG! He jolted himself awake. He had fallen out of his bed. He let out a sigh of relief. It had all been a dream.

 

Far away, at the bottom of a tall cliff a man lay dead, impaled on the rocks. The man who had pushed him laughed madly.
