Chapter 1: I Don't Like The Drugs

“I love you Zeke,” Carance murmured grimly, looking down at Zeke with a frown on his handsome face,”but I can’t stand it to see you use drugs.”

Zeke flinched at the anger in his lover’s eyes and let his gaze drop down to the little plastic baggie that was clenched in Carance’s large hands.

“It’s not like I’m an addict or something,” Zeke snarled defensively. “I just do a little coke or two Bliss pills on the weekends or when the house is empty.”

He twitched noticeably as Carance’s grip crushed one of the crimson pills in the bag, sending a sticky red mess of concentrated Bliss to pool at the bottom. “I know it’s wrong, but Bliss makes me feel so good...”

“That doesn’t explain your sudden coke habbit,” Carance growled out, not missing the way that Zeke’s eyes widened as another pill broke in half. “Why did you even start doing coke anyway?”

Zeke flinched and backed up against the wall behind him. “It-it was for a job at first,” he whispered. “Mickey wanted me to go undercover as one of Zero’s boys and we all know that they do drugs by the pound. I had to snort lines otherwise I would have gotten us busted.”

He tried and succeeded in mustering up a nervous little smile. “At least he kept me far away from the shots of Leech that were circulating around the room. He only let me have one sip from his cup the entire night.”

If anything, that soft admission only served to make Carance angrier.

“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Carance snarled, “Our boss is the reason that you’re selling yourself to Miska again? I ought to kill him for that!”

His free hand slid down to caress the butt of his gun and he smiled a cold smile that chilled Zeke’s very soul.

“Please Ducky,” Zeke cried out, hoping that the use of Carance’s pet name would calm him down slightly. “It’s not his fault, I mean-I should have known better than to do coke. And I’ve been doing Bliss since I was about fifteen so it doesn’t really have much an effect on me anyway...”

Zeke trailed off as the murderous look returned to Carance’s gold eyes and he whimpered softly.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Zeke asked, his voice becoming whiny and slightly frightened as a nerve twitched in Carance’s jaw. “What did I say?”

“You’re twenty-nine now am I right?” When Zeke nodded, Carance continued talking. “So you mean to tell me that you’ve been using a dangerous drug like Bliss for over twelve years?  Who got you hooked in the first place?”

Zeke shook his head.

“It’s none of your business,” he stuttered softly, “I don’t want you to get mad at me,”

Carance snarled wordlessly and clenched his fists against his sides.

“Who was it?”

Zeke whimpered and shook his head once more.

“I;m not going to tell you!”

“WHO WAS IT THAT GOT YOU HOOKED ON BLISS?”

Zeke burst into tears and bowed his head, refusing to meet his lover’s eyes.

“It was my mother.”

“Would you mind saying that a little bit louder?” Carance asked, his voice sickly sweet. “I couldn’t hear you...”

“It was my mother!” Zeke screeched, “She got me hooked on Bliss because she couldn’t stand to watch me suffer after I started to test my limits at the bondage clubs.

“I’d come home bleeding from every orifice and begging for Nida to put me out of my misery. And my mom just couldn’t take that. That’s why she created Bliss for me.”

Zeke suddenly broke down crying and he buried his face into his hands. “I’m sorry but I’ll never be able to stop taking Bliss even if I wanted to. I wouldn’t be able to exist.”
