Chapter 1: Chapter 1

It was a monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were eating quietly in their large, empty house, just like everyday. Today's menu included Mr. Smith's favorite: chicken bathed in vegetable sauce. The only sounds coming from the couple were the tinkering of utensils, and the breathing of their lungs.

"Pass me the salt, Octavia," Mr. Smith said.

Mrs. Smith did as she was asked.

"Thank you."

They returned to their meals. Mrs. Smith looked up at her husband sadly, wishing he would notice her knew dress, but the man was oblivious.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Mrs. Smith jumped, surprised.

"Are you going to get that?" Mr. Smith asked, raising an eyebrow questioningly.

"Oh, yes. I'm coming," Mrs. Smith stuttered. She hurried to the door and opened it with caution.

There were three men standing at her doorsteps, each very different from the next. The first man had short, blonde hair and blue eyes. He was dressed in an expensive two-piece suit, like the ones her husband had. The second man was taller than the other two; he had short cropped black hair and plain black eyes. He was weaing a plain white t-shirt and black pants. The last man had curly brown hair and soft caramel eyes. He had a babyish face and was dressed in jeans and a Gun & Roses t-shirt.

But as different as they all were, they were all incredibly beautiful.

"How can I help you?" Mrs. Smith asked them once she had caught her breath.

"Are you Octavia Smith?" the curly-haired man asked in a deep voice.

"Mrs. Smith," Octavia corrected.

"Ah, Mrs. Smith. We are here to offer you a deal, ma'am," he continued talking.

"I'm sorry, but we are not interested in buying anything," Mrs. Smith said.

"And we're not interested in selling," he replied. "Let us intruduce ourselves: my name is Love, and this are my brothers, Health and Money."

Mrs. Smith snorted. "Yeah, right. Look, go bother someone else." She made as if to close the door, but something stopped her. She looked down, but none of the men had moved. "What do you want?" she asked nervously.

"We want to offer you a deal," Love answered simply.

"What kind of deal?" Mrs. Smith questionined suspiciously. She didn't believe in anything Love was saying, but decided to humor him until Mr. Smith showed up.

"You can invite one of us into your house, and we will never leave. We will provide you with whatever we represent until the day that you die," Love explained. "For example, if you invite my brother Health in, you will never suffer even the slightest cold. However, you can only choose one of us; the other two will leave and never come back."

Mrs. Smith stuttered silently. What a ridiculous idea! Who would believe something like that? However, she couldn't make herself close the door.

"Octavia, what is going on?" It was Mr. Smith, looking to see what was taking his wife so long.

Hurriedly, Mrs. Smith explained the deal to Mr. Smith, who surprisingly believed it at once.

"The choice is easy!" he exclaimed.

"Only Mrs. Smith can decide," Health interrupted. "As it was her who opened the door first."

"Octavia, come with me," Mr. Smith whispered, pulling his wife back.

"What is it, Cole?" she asked, confused.

"Honey, choose Money," Mr. Smith whispered fervently. "Do you know what we could do with limitless money? Everything! We can get that new car I've been wanting, and you can buy all the dresses you want. You can buy a whole new wardrobe and not wear the same old thing every day."

Octavia looked down at her brand new dress. He hadn't noticed. "But we already have money," she answered quietly.

"Not enough!" Mr. Smith replied. "It's never enough."

"Okay," Octavia nodded. "I will tell them what I have decided."

The married couple returned to the door, Mrs. Smith walking slowly while Mr. Smith followed her excitedly.

"Your choice, Octavia?" Money asked, his voice velvet soft.

"I choose--love," Octavia answered.

"What? Octavia, we decided!" Mr. Smith exclaimed. "How could you--."

Mr. Smith stopped talking and watched in surprised as all three men stepped through the threshold.

"But....I thought--" Octavia started.

"If you have love, then health and money will always follow," love replied. "We will bless your home until the day that you die."
