The Money Tree

People dream of the money tree,
An abundance of eternal riches.
But what lurks beneath the dirt,
Behind the shrubs and ditches.
A specimen so highly prized,
we will give it what it wants.
It leaves all men mesmerized,
to quiver in it's awesome sight.
What shall we feed this money tree?
What will make it grow?
Let's lavish it with jealousy,
and greed so green it'll show.
It's roots will only drink evil,
It's bark toughened with pain.
We'll slave on it day by day,
Hoping,
It will give us fortune again.
