Battles: Battle (1)

Halo brandished her sword, her sky magic at the ready. The slime loomed over her as her back was pressed against the tree trunk, sword pointed out towards the slime. The slime inched closer, slime coating the grass. Sweat trickled down her back as she pulled out her dagger and slowly moved right, then back, inching away from the slime. The slime suddenly leaped forward and she rolled to the side, casting dark storm clouds and covering the slime.

The slime was blinded, shrieking furiously as it looked left and right, searching for Halo. At that point, she was attempting to scramble up a tree, as it was known that slimes couldn't climb trees. Until the slime heard the snapping of a tree branch and looked straight in the direction she was in. All hope of focus fled as she called back her smoke magic, feeling it absorb into her body, and quickly climbed up the tree, the slime hot on her heels. She then realized she was at the top, perched precariously between a Y-shaped branch, and loaded her crossbow, imbuing it with her sky magic, letting it flicker ominously.

She aimed, lining up the arrow's point with the chest, and released it. The flickering bloomed into ice crystals, freezing inside of the slime and killing it. 

Halo leaped from the tree and picked up the arrow, cleaning it before walking away.
