Chapter 1: Ep 1 - Birds of a Feather

The sun had risen only hours ago, leaving the stratus-ridden skies a cheery, vibrant blue. Deep, troubled ocean and the shapes of distant mountains formed Persim Beach’s horizon line. Abandoned omanyte shells, colorful rocks, and washed up kelp littered the sand. Intermittent birdsong could be heard from far away, and there was a soft melody of the wind from the waterfront as it rustled the leafy trees that composed the nearby forest. Despite the cool breeze, it was rather temperate. It was otherwise a mostly barren place- not many pokemon traveled out this far beyond the town of Splitik, especially what with the surge in mystery dungeon appearances as of late. This was no place for the average pokemon anyways. The waves beat the earth coarsely at the shore and criminals and thieves were known to often wander through the foliage in search of easy targets. But there was one thing out of the ordinary- an eevee, weak and weary, laying at the water’s edge.

They coughed as they awoke from a mysterious slumber, a bit of seawater dripping out of their maw, leaving them thirsty and with a salty taste in their mouth. The lone pokemon looked around tentatively and with confusion. They tried to take in their environment; it was a nice place, honestly, but it was hard to appreciate the view under these confusing circumstances. They took a moment trying to stand, their paws trembling, and eventually managed to take to their feet. They took a deep but uneasy breath. Where was this place? As they racked their brain for the answer to what could have possibly caused this, they came up empty. Their mind felt so foggy; their memories so distant. The eevee looked back at the ocean. They must have fallen into the water and bumped their head at some point. Doing what, they were unsure. Everything would come back to them soon, they assured themself. But for now, they should probably get dry or find someone to talk to. Preferably someone who could take them home, wherever that was.

They shook their body, droplets of water flying off their damp pelt. They scanned their surroundings, but there wasn’t much to see nearby. If there weren’t any pokemon around here now, it probably wasn’t a good idea to try to just wait around for who knows how long for someone to help them. The right choice seemed to be taking initiative and looking around on their own. They walked hesitantly towards the trees. Even with the sun up, it looked kind of scary in there. And although they of course had no idea about their whereabouts, they weren’t fully confident that they should risk the possibility of getting even more lost. They shut their eyes hard and tried to focus, mumbling a bit to themself. “Think... think... I just need to find someone. My home is probably somewhere nearby.” Even as they said that, they couldn’t quite grasp what home entailed for them. Did they even have a house? Did they live alone or with other pokemon? And what had happened before they woke up by the ocean that had their mind feeling so muddled?

Their thinking was interrupted by a low voice. “Lost, little guy?” When the eevee reopened their eyes, there was a strange figure with half-lidded eyes under the trees in front of them, wearing all black apparel. He seemed to be trying to hide his identity, but under the cloak and mask the bottom of his face was still visible, making it mostly obvious that this pokemon was just an average sprigatito, if not slightly taller than average. He gave the smaller pokemon a fanged smile. Su watched as it eventually fell into a frown. “Uh, hello? You’re staring and I don’t particularly like it.” The sprigatito squinted at the eevee, who quickly gathered themself to reply to this odd stranger.

“Sorry! I am lost, actually, thank you for asking! My name is... um...,” The eevee racked their mind, smiling as they came to an answer. “Su! My name is Su! Nice to meet you!” They held out a paw for a handshake, not suspicious of the sprigatito in the slightest. All they hoped was that he wasn’t lost as well, or else they’d be in the same predicament they started in. But if not, he may be able to help them find their way, which is exactly what Su had walked over here in hopes of doing, so that would be perfect!

“Oh, you’re not a kid.” Su was admittedly a bit small, so they hardly blinked an eye at the statement. The sprigatito looked down at Su’s paw, which was still awaiting that handshake. He smacked it out of the air with a frustrated look. “Excuse me? No, no way man, don’t get all friendly on me.” He adjusted his stature, clearly trying to look taller and more intimidating. “You alone out here? No, actually, I’ll just cut to the chase. Give me whatever you have on you and I’ll leave you alone. Don’t and you’ll regret it, big time.”

Su tilted their head, putting together the puzzle pieces. “What? Are you... trying to rob me? But you seemed so nice...,” they said, looking at him worriedly. The sprigatitio scoffed, caught off guard by the sentiment. But his expression quickly returned to that unhappy look from before, as if waiting for them to drop an act. Eventually Su looked at themself, feeling hurt. “I don’t think I have anything valuable on me. Or anything on me at all, besides the fur. I really have no clue where I am, and I... I think something must’ve happened to me, because I hardly remember a thing.” They looked up at him with a look of realization, forming a slight frown. “You came to steal from me because you thought I was a kid?”

The other pokemon bared his teeth, and muttered barely audibly under his breath. “Man, he really did have me thinking it’d be easier than this.” He rose his voice and took a step towards the eevee, looking down at them so they were nearly nose to nose. “You think I’m that naive? Where do you live, and what’s your deal?”

Su met his gaze, and their ears drooped down sadly. “I already told you, I don’t know. Can you please take me to the closest town? I’ll owe you one, promise. You don’t seem like you-”

“What?” The sprigatito interrupted them, putting up a paw and unsheathing his claws. “Don’t act like you know me. And you don’t want to owe nobody nothing. I quit. This was so stupid... absolutely useless...” His voice drifted off into silence, but then a flying shadow appeared on the ground nearby Su. The sprigatito backed up into the trees, looking up and trying to get a good look at whatever was casting it. Su looked up as well, seeing a flying type pokemon circling them from above. When they looked back down, the sprigatito was running away. “Shoot- uh, don’t follow me.” He gave one last glance towards the sky before disappearing into the trees. Unsure why he was leaving in such a rush, Su turned their attention back towards the sky overhead.

Just as Su found the source of the shadow, it swooped down and landed right in front of them. It was a pikipek colored in vivid pinks and greens, not too much smaller than Su. It had a confident aura about it. It shuffled its clawed feet a bit, then puffed out its chest and smiled at Su. “Looks like I got here right in time.” Su didn’t think the sprigatito would have posed much threat, but the pikipek looked proud to have scared him off. “Krielek at your service. Pikipek adventurer extraordinaire to be and barista at Angel Bay Boba. Although I’ve been told my true talents lie with bartending. But that’s plenty enough about me- who are you?” Their words almost seemed prepared, but Su was impressed regardless. The eevee offered a smile, happy to see someone more cheery than their most recent encounter.

“Oh, don’t worry, he wasn’t any trouble. I’m Mitsuga, but I go by Su! I can’t actually tell you much about myself, because frankly, I don’t quite remember. I just woke up on the shore of this beach, all alone. Do you by any chance think you could help me find someone who knows me? Or at least lead me to the nearest town so I’m not stuck out here?” Krielek widened their eyes. They also took note that Su seemed oddly cheerful even with how the morning had apparently gone for them.

“You remember nothing? Why, what news!” Su furrowed their brows at Krielek’s statement, and the pikipek quickly waved one of their wings. “Terrible news, I mean! What terrible news! You say you woke up on this beach, no recollection of anything but your name?” Su simply nodded. “How bizarre! But believe it or not, not the first time that’s happened either!”

Su tilted their head. “Not the first? Really?”

“Really!” Krielek smiled, then flew up and landed on Su’s back. Su didn’t do anything to stop them, but looked on with curiosity. “Say, Su, I’ve actually got an offer for you! Why don’t I show you around, help you out a bit? This is so interesting, and I couldn’t possibly leave you alone out here someplace so perilous, so vicious for someone so vulnerable. What do you say, my eevee friend?”

Su shook their worries out of their fluffy little head. Their tail began to wave to and fro a little, and they perked up at the offer. “That’d be fantastic! Is your home very far away?”

Krielek used a feathered wing to point in a direction. There were two paths nearby, and Krielek was pointing to the twisty, less developed looking one with tree branches in the way. The path itself was barely visible. “It’s a bit of a walk, but it’s right up that way. It’ll be a little longer since we won’t be taking the main road. As mentioned previously, this place is chock full of danger, not a place for the meek and mild, not a place for you at all in my professional opinion! There’s a smaller likelihood of villainous delinquents catching us off guard if we travel off the beaten road, you know?” Krielek cleared their throat. “B-but, rest assured that if we do end up having a run in with another criminal, I shall have them running off in mere moments! I’ve already proven that to you, have I not?”

Su started the walk through the path Krielek had pointed out, the pikipek still sitting on their back. Su didn’t think Krielek looked scary at all, but they were acting as if they were a seasoned veteran at whatever they were doing, so they certainly must be in the know! Su had a feeling Krielek was stronger than them, at least, and there’s more safety in pairs! Su smiled. “Alrighty, let’s go!” They picked up their pace, and Su followed Krielek’s every command. The forest was thick and full of strange noises, and there were fallen trees and pokey branches to evade the whole way. Su could tell from the movement on their back that their new friend was looking around at every little noise. But Su wasn’t nearly so timid. In their mind, if any of the so-called criminals out here were anything like that sprigatito, there was nothing to be afraid of. And there was good in every pokemon’s heart- with reason and kindness, it’d be easy to convince anyone to make the right choice. Su believed in that wholeheartedly, and any fear they may have initially had simply faded into the background.

It was indeed a long walk before the two of them finally made it out of that forest. Su’s breath was heavy and audible, and they felt very hungry. Krielek had found some growing oran berries for the two of them on the way to town, but it was just a small snack compared to all that walking. Not to mention, Su was absolutely parched. Krielek apparently had just been taking a quick fly to the beach and back when they found Su- they refused to explain for what reason- and as such hadn’t brought anything with them besides a small coin pouch hidden under their feathers. So it was a great relief when the two at last came upon a clearing, with a big market a short distance away.

Su grinned. “We’re here! I don’t know where, but we’re here! I’m so hungry and thirsty, it’s great to be in society again!” Su began running to the town, gaining a sudden and inexplicable burst in energy as soon as they saw the market. There were various buildings and stalls, each one a different shape and size and completely unique in their own ways. There were also all different kinds of pokemon selling items, crafts, services, and food, and customers were plenty. There was even a bank and a place that seemed to be selling storage units. The largest building looked almost like the shell of a giant pokemon, and had a sign that labeled it as the Guild Directory.

Krielek laughed as Su walked them right to the center of the market. “You didn’t used to leave town much, did you?” Su remained silent, either unsure how to reply or busy taking in the market. Obviously Krielek wasn’t tired, because they’d made Su carry them the entire way. Not that Su minded, or even mentioned it. Although Krielek was honestly impressed with the eevee’s stamina. Su didn’t complain once the entire way and got through the forest stronger than they would have expected from the average pokemon, especially one so weak looking. Maybe they worked out a lot before they lost their memories, because even the fly between the beach and the town without all the ground obstacles usually left Krielek all kinds of tuckered out. “Well, I suppose we should find ourselves some food and water now, then,” Krielek chirped. “The Guild Directory usually has handouts for pokemon like you, since my home is still a little further away. Plus, free water! But afterwards, you’re welcome to come to my house. I can even let you stay a while, if you’d like that. It doesn’t seem like you really have anywhere else to go anyways, and I would never want someone to sleep out on the streets, ahah!”

Su nodded. “Maybe someone in the Directory could help me find my family. I probably live nearby, if this is the closest town to the beach I woke up on. Or maybe they have a doctor who can give me my memories back.”

Krielek frowned hesitantly. “Oh, no, I wouldn’t count on it. Pokemon have been showing up all over the place lately, memories lost and hearts sad... and not a soul recognizes them. Or at least that’s how the rumor goes.”

Su looked at them sadly. “Well, a rumor is just a rumor, isn’t it?”

Krielek avoided meeting their eyes, more for dramatic effect than anything else. “Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t believe rumors appear out of nowhere. There’s always a story behind them. And to find you, with the story you’ve told me... unlikely to be a simple coincidence, don’t you agree?” When they looked back at Su, their eyes were getting a little teary. “Oh! But, no, we can worry about that later! Let’s get you something to eat, go home, talk a little more... and most absolutely we shall figure it all out with time, I’m fully certain of it!”

Su nodded melancholically, but their face brightened up as they walked into the Guild Directory building. It was large inside, and there were pokemon all around, many of them wearing strange badges of various colors. They all looked similar, but some had different colors or shapes on them- Su figured they must mean something related to the Guild. There was a water well splat in the center, as well as a few tables with different labels over them, and a couple bulletin boards covered in sheets of paper. They approached the well and got some drinks, then Krielek motioned towards a vulpix sitting at one of the tables. She was wearing a badge too, and her hair looked almost like thick, wet honey. “Over there. She volunteers here, she can probably help you.”

Su walked up to the table where she sat, and she gave a smile to the pair. “Hey sweeties!” She was in the middle of preparing some sort of bag, and set it aside. “We have some free supplies here if you guys are new to town and need something to get you started before you get settled in.” Su couldn’t tell what was in the bags, but the bags themselves were large and good quality.

Krielek frowned at the vulpix. “I’m not new to Splitik, they are. We’ve met several times already. You’re Dipper, I’m Krielek. I frequent the market by the directory every week?”

Recognition flashed in Dipper’s eyes, if not a little too late. “Ohh, Krielek! You’re the pikipek who was trying to make a rescue team a few weeks ago, but you couldn’t because you didn’t have any friends to join it! Yes, I remember you.” She smiled innocently, and Krielek glanced at Su in utter disbelief. But Su didn’t manage to pick up that what she said may have come off as a bit rude to Krielek, and just smiled back at the vulpix.

“Uh, right.” Krielek patted Su’s head. “Anywho, Su here is actually new to the town, and we were wondering if you had anything for them. In fact...,” Krielek hopped onto the table and whispered into Dipper’s ear. It was still loud enough that Su heard it, but probably nobody else in the building heard. “They say they lost their memory.”

Dipper’s mouth formed a surprised O shape. She looked at Su sympathetically, a look that Su didn’t feel all that happy about. “Oh no, I’m sorry!” Dipper finished putting together the bag she’d been working on, and handed it to Su. “I’ve heard about that, you know. Here, take a bag of supplies! Oh, oh! I’ll actually get some stew for both of you- on the house!”

Su smiled. “Thank you so much!” They took the satchel and put it on, too excited for the food to take a look inside.

Dipper brought Su and Krielek to the door of the kitchen. “Stay right there, I’ll be right back!” She went into the other room for a little while, and shortly after returned with two wooden bowls with stew in them. “Here you are! Feel free to come back and talk to me anytime! And good luck forming your rescue tea, Krielek. Mine recently fell apart, I only have the badge still because I volunteer here. So, you know, if you ever do manage to make one, I might be willing to join it! I need to return to my station but if you two need anything else, I’ll be right here.” Krielek frowned at her as she walked back towards her table and began to greet other pokemon. They didn’t particularly want her on their team to begin with, personally.

“I didn’t know you were going to make a rescue team! Although I don’t know what a rescue team is exactly, either,” Su said cheerily, bringing the food to a nearby table and sitting down. Once Krielek had had enough at being annoyed with Dipper, they followed suit.

“Oh, it’s just about what it sounds like! You help pokemon in need, stop criminals, all sorts of stuff! It’s like community service,” Krielek said, leaning in a little. “But you get paid for it.” Su nodded and Krielek took a sip of the stew. “Anyways. Their food is always good. Better than I can make it at least, haha. Who’d have guessed someone so good at making drinks can’t make soup... it’s about fifty percent drink anyways! With, you know, the liquid.”

Su stirred their food, sniffing it almost like a picky child. “I think this is stew, not soup.” They took a mouthful, and it was clear by the look of their face that they did not enjoy the taste.

Krielek just laughed. “Not a fan? And the real question- think you can do any better?”

Su swallowed their food, then took a second bite, feeling hungry enough to eat it anyways. And they certainly wouldn’t want to offend whoever the guild’s chef was, especially since it was free of charge. Even if they probably didn’t deserve the title of chef. “I’ve, um, had better. Honestly, I do think I could improve on the recipe. The flavor is so dull, and the meat is dryer than I like it. It’s not terrible or anything, but I think if they added some more seasoning and cooked it differently it could be better.”

“Oh?” Krielek smiled curiously. “So you were a chef, then? You’ll have to make me something sometime. I’d love to see if you’d live up to the expectations you’re handing me.” Su chuckled.

The two finished their meal and had one more drink of water. As they were about to leave, Su took a closer look at the bulletin boards. It was fearsome stuff- anything from wanted posters with rewards listed, to photos of pokemon that had gone missing, to help requests from sick pokemon. Su wondered why all of this would happen. They don’t feel like they lived a life of danger, but it seems all this morning had been full of references to a treacherous world. “Hey, Krielek?” Krielek turned to look at Su, and then followed their eyes towards the bulletin boards. “Do you think I should put up a paper that says I just got here and am lost?”

Krielek shook their head. “Maybe we can do that tomorrow. That’s a lot of paperwork, and not very many pokemon will look at it if you don’t offer a reward. In the end, it could even just draw more attention to you. So unless you want to be babied or taken advantage of, I don’t know about that for now.”

Su frowned, but nodded in understanding. Maybe some other time then- they had already had a busy morning, after all. Su and Krielek made their ways out of the building. Krielek flew in front and guided them home. When they got there, Su looked on with envy. It was a small, one room house built into the side of a hill. It had beautiful glass windows with curtains that looked like butterfree wings. The mailbox out front resembled a caterpie’s body pattern. Mushrooms and flowers were growing out front in a way that made it feel magical. There was even a leaf flag out front that looked to have been made by a leavanny. Overall a nice and cozy location, and Krielek seemed proud as Su eyed every little detail. Krielek gave them a moment longer to absorb the sight, then opened the door and let them inside. The inside of the house had a sort of simplistic style to it and not too cluttered, making the details it did have feel that much more prominent.

They talked a while, not about things of much importance. Although Su was curious where they came from, Krielek didn’t have a good answer. They only knew what they’d heard in fleeting rumors, which wasn’t much at all. Eventually Su came back to something else they were curious about, that Krielek would actually have an answer to. “Dipper said you were thinking of forming a guild? Maybe I could be part of it. If I’m going to stay with you for a little while, it’s the least I could do.”

Krielek scoffed. Guild work was famously dangerous and difficult- Dipper was hardly worthy of joining their rescue team, let alone an eevee who probably couldn’t even remember how to use tackle. But at the same time, Su had had a hard day, so it was better off to let them down easy. “Oh, I don’t know about that. But we’ll see, we’ll see!”

“It could be really cool for us, is all I was thinking.” Krielek looked down at the table wordlessly as Su spoke. Right there were some partially filled out guild paperwork, complete with a guild emblem on the top to officialize it. Some of it was done, but Krielek knew it was of no value if they didn’t already have a team. Something about the buddy system- the Guild wouldn’t hire you unless you had at least one partner, and even then they preferred larger teams. “We’re two birds of a feather, Krielek, we get along. We could do some really neat things in a rescue team.”

The pikipek gave Su a sideways look. “Two birds of a feather? That’d maybe make sense to say if we’d both lost our memories. Or even if we were both birds.” They shook their head. “I like you, but I don’t think we have much in common.”

Su shrugged. “I guess. But, well, just something to think about.”

It wasn’t long before Su was curled up in Krielek’s nest and had fallen fast asleep. They must’ve been tired from the long morning, Krielek thought, and to nobody’s surprise. They’d been through a lot today! They looked once more at the Guild paperwork on the table, then shoved it aside in frustration. They looked back at the eevee in their nest. They should probably get a second bed if Su was going to be staying for a while. Which Krielek hoped dearly would be the case, because meeting someone with such a story behind them... It must have been meant to be.

Krielek sighed. Considering whatever nonsense this eevee could get up to when they woke up, they should probably take a short nap themself. The flying type shuffled slightly, then tucked their head into their feathers and shut their eyes. This would surely be a day to remember, wouldn’t it? And maybe they’d finally have their chance to become a hero now. Su could be the key to unveiling the mysteries behind the dungeon appearances, the growth in crime, and the missing memories... but that was getting a little ahead of themself. For now, the best thing to do was to just look forward to whatever the rest of the day would bring for them and Su. And what that could be, Krielek had absolutely no idea. Which was just how they liked it.

By the end of the next week Krielek’s life felt wildly different. They got a new bed for Su so they could stay at their house without having to decide which of them would be getting a good night’s sleep. Su did show off their cooking skills one morning while Krielek was getting ready for work- they’d made delicious omelets, which by chance also happened to be Krielek’s favorite food. Krielek said they were the best they’d ever had- Su appreciated the kind words so much that they took it upon themself to cook for them regularly, as a thanks for their hospitality. It turns out Kreilek always seemed to be in a better mood after eating breakfast food. Su also helped upkeep the garden and do shopping while Krielek was at work. Krielek was grateful for all the help, and although now having to care for the eevee and all that was eating at their savings. Su had proven themself to be a hard worker, as well as that they get bored when there’s nothing to get done. Maybe it would be best if they got a job of their own.

Krielek briefly joked about Su becoming the new Guild cook, but Su seemed to actually like the idea of working for the Guild. They managed to bring it up regularly- Krielek’s idea for a rescue team, that is. “Hey, Krielek, did you ever make a team name?”

Krielek shook their head. “Not exactly. I figured I’d make one up when making a rescue team became an actual possibility. As in, of course, having a team.”

Su wagged their fluffy tail. “I’m still down to be your team! I love to help others, and this way I’d be helping make some income! And you seem to really like adventure- this could open a lot of doors, don’t you think so? We could name the team Brunch! Because that’s your favorite meal.”

“Uh...,” Krielek paused, then smiled. “Yeah, that’s an okay name. I’ll think about it. But I’ve never seen you in a fight. Most of the tasks on the board contain some level of risk if pursued. And I can’t adventure with you if you end up being a liability. You seem to think so, but I don’t believe every bad situation can be simply talked out of. Some pokemon are just not good.”

Su didn’t seem hurt at all. “Exactly, that’s why we could be a great team! We have different approaches!”

“Ha.” Krielek tried to give Su the benefit of the doubt, thinking about how they’d be on a rescue team. “How about this- we see your moveset and, if you prove you can actually defend yourself, you’re in. I’ll go easy on you, but I expect you to come at me with your full power.” They really didn’t think there was much chance for Su, but it would be nice to at least act like they were considering it. “Keep in mind I’m not easy to impress. Nothing against you, I’m just not.”

“Okay!” Su smiled, happy as ever. “I don’t know if I even remember my moves, though. But I’ll give you my all!”

Later that night, Su and Krielek were standing face to face in the open fields beside the market. Su was taking a battling position, and Krielek was just standing in the grass, having decided not to fly for the battle so that Su had a greater advantage. Krielek chirped three times, the message for Su to try to land the first move.

Su didn’t recall how to fight- they honestly weren’t even sure they’d fought before. They didn’t feel right using moves against Krielek, even if the pikipek had assured them about a dozen times that it’d be no issue. Su backed up a little bit, then rushed forward and pounced on Krielek. But the bird was speedy- they hopped out of the way with little issue. Su tried once more, but it was of no use. They'd have to find another method of attacking, preferably something less physical considering what an easy time Krielek was having with dodging. Maybe there was a trickier way to go about this. Su looked at the ground below them, Krielek watching a short distance away. Su quickly turned around and kicked up dust from the ground at Krielek. They weren’t sure exactly if it counted as a move, but it was worth a shot. Krielek immediately began waving their wings around, coughing. “Ack- yeah, good, use your surroundings to your advantage. Your tackle looked weak but a move like that will put your opponent in a tight spot. A little underhanded for my personal tastes but good, still good.” Krielek flapped their wings one last time, dissipating the cloud of dust. As they were doing this, however, Su got within vicinity of the flying type and hit them with an unclawed paw. Krielek nearly fell over in surprise, then quickly backed away. “I couldn’t tell what that move was, but the timing was good! G-give me a minute to breathe air now.”

Su approached Krielek, feeling a bit guilty. “Sorry. And I think I’m supposed to use my claws for that last attack, I just didn’t want to hurt you.”

“I see. That’s very nice of you, but someone you’re actually fighting will use their full strength. So always be prepared to fight with all you’ve got, anytime.” Krielek nodded, mostly for themself. “I’ll admit, you’re feistier than I anticipated. I’m not going to use a move on you but this is good information to have. If we work on your speed, and get you in the right environment, there’s a chance you could be useful. I’ll give you that.”

“Really?” Su’s eyes widened. “So we can make a rescue team?”

Krielek paused, then finally they nodded. “You’ve convinced me, I think. I suppose we can.”

Many cooked meals, fighting training, and piles of paperwork later, and Krielek and Su had been approved by the Guild and received their rescue team badges in the mail. It was an exciting day, and they both knew now that there were many more to come. Su had chosen the team’s name based on their original idea- Morning Brunch. Krielek wasn’t picky with names and was more than happy to allow it. Admittedly, it wasn’t a bad name at all!

Soon they’d be accepting their very first mission. But that was getting a bit ahead of themselves. The rest of the night was for celebration, and Su made pancakes for dinner. Whatever adventures were to come, Krielek was hopeful they’d be great. They weren’t sure how they were going to even sleep that night. This was a dream they’d been wanting to pursue since they even first heard about mystery dungeons. And it was coming to fruition right before their eyes! All because they found a lost eevee all those weeks ago. Must have been some kind of a sign, Krielek thought. Must have been fate.
