This took me quite a while to do, but it didn't come out as good as I thought it would. Let me know what you think. This was a drawing by the Hildebrandts.
So far it looks great, the dress is very nicely designed and your shading is good also. You should try some fine cross-hatching on this one as I think it would bring your shading technique to another level. This is just my suggestion though.
Well, this is a piece I found in a book that contains various works by the Hildebrandts. This is one of their Lord of the Rings pieces. They have made many pieces based on the Tolkien series. They are amazing, I must say. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. I'll try to work on it again someday. I know it needs some work.
I don't really like her face and her right hand. Her face is a bit too... *gets a dictionary* ... coarse? I mean that almost everything is a bit too "big". ... Well forget the face part if you don't understand me. I can't make it any more clear than this and even I don't understand it when I read it. About her right hand; I think the fingers are a little knife-like. But the rest is beautiful.
You're right. I'm sorry I forgot to reference it. So, now I'm going to reference the Hildebrandts, and give them credit. Thank you for warning me, Minimaid.
Well, luv... I think you should -always- post the reference to your pictures, or you may get in trouble.
Other than that, you've done a beautiful job of this drawing. The Hildebrandts are great to reference for learning, aren't they? That's where I started.
First things first: I LOVE her hands. I find hands terribly hard to draw, but you drew hers so well. One thing that I think you could improve on is the folds of the dress. The dress design is very good, but it just looks a bit odd because of the way the folds go. Maybe you could get a friend to wear a long-sleeved dress like that and pose for you so you can draw a reference picture for the future, or something like that, just so you can better understand how cloth folds. Her face looks very wise. Overall, great job, keep up the good work!

Very nice, what Hildebrandt work is this from?

I don't even know how to describe it; it's just awesome, is all.
