Long hug

Posted Jun 25, 2008, 9:14:26 PM UTC

for my friend Sylphie ^^

"Long" is the mandarin word for  dragon, allso sometimes misused as the name for the Chinese Imperial Dragon species... that's just the "type" or "family" of dragon, there are many species of Longs (Jiaolong, Shenglong, Yinglong.... etc.) and Longs are VERY different from Japanese Ryus, these tend to be smaller and only have 3 fingers on each claw, while Longs can be as big as mountais and have 4-5 fingers on each claw.

... they're not about to do anything O____o that tangled position is a Dragon display of affection, like a hug.

Very cool. I did not know that about 'long' though I seem to recall that only Imperial longs have five fingers. ^^

Eh? What do you mean? Granted I am not as familiar with Asian dragon mythology but I was under the impression that dragons representing the Imperial family were drawn/painted with five toes rather than the usual four. *shrugs* Its really neither here nor there though.
