This is a picture I drew at the end of the school year featuring a yet unnamed nix and her wisp. In Norse folklore, nixes are water spirits who try to lure people into water. Wisps, short for willow o' the wisp, are thought to be imps or pixies leading victims to danger in swamps and heaths. Sometimes they are believed to be the spirits of stillborn children flitting between heaven and hell.
This particular little nix has captured a wisp and put it in a lantern. She leads travelers through the swamps that she calls her home, but you must always take care to go in the opposite direction that she heads in. If you follow her, she will lead you to your own death.
Both the wisp and the nix need names. And I need to finish the background. I'm so lazy...
I really love the clothes! Especially the hat! xD Hmm...the...uhh...*does a quick check* left () arm looks a little bit weird, though. Especially toward the hand. But everything else looks great! ^_^
You're right, it does look wonky. I might have made the upper-half too long, and the lower arm too short. Then again, perhaps it's just stubby-person proportions. I don't know, but I agree that it does look wonky.
Your submission is posted to our site but it hasn't yet been added to an Art RPG queue for point counting, approval, and/or reward redemption. Submit it to the queue to get your rewards.
She has cool clothes btw!
I love folklore, too. It's vastly underrated, but terribly exciting.
