Alright so it's done and it's my character racing against GS. I think it turned out pretty sweet!I colored it in photoshop I'm still learning how to use it so that's why there's no special effects in it or nothing. I wanted to put a cool night background with clouds and the moon and such...but I really suck at backgrounds so I didn't do it. Anyways I like how Shadow's pose came out(even though I had alot of trouble with the old pose) he looks like he's about to knock GS right out of the sky and say "HA! I win!" anyway I hope you guys will like it cause I do.
*woot*This is awesome!!!!I love the grin on GS`s face! He`s so confident! And the Shadows` pose is awesoem!I love the motion!Awesoem job!Though a BG would be niceAnywayz, the piccy rocks!!!!!Keep up the good work!
thanks!! The grin is my favorite part of GS cause he's so carefreee and confident Yeah i'd like a BG in this too but I really really suck at them and I didn't want to ruin it but thanks anyways
Woot! That is one awesome pose on Shadow. And he reminds me of one of the Mortal Kombat guys with the whole "lack-of-eyeballs" thing he has going on. Anywhoo, it is a very imaginitive character. I am always amazed by other artist's original characters. I always have such a tough time coming up with characters and then to see such brilliant characters flow out of an artist is definitely something to behold. Okay, enough rambling. I absolutely ADORE Gohan. Especially as great Saiyaman. He was so corny. But definitely a lovable character. I think I will hide my eyes now. I don't want to witness what Shadow is going to do to Gohan. >_< Great job sweetie. And don't worry... I completely suck at BGs too. That is why I do my best to avoid them. much love. *huggles*
Thanks! Yeah BG's are really hard for me to do even though I'd love to be able to do them hopefully I'll get the hang of it one day. I can see the MK resemblance now before you said anything I didn't even notice it I thought pupils would add too much of a human like quality which I wasn't looking for. I wanted him to look mysterious and dangerous and stuff like that so I just left them out.
Thhhheeeeerrrreeeee we go!! that is a good pose Just remember that if an arm is going backwards, the shoulder will natraly go back too (unless they are totally unflexable like me!) I reckon you should give this a BG though- its a shame having voids in this pic considering that pose and stuff.
(actually, your shadow guy looks like he's gonna steam glomp Gohan XD I wanna see the aftermath of THAT!! *woot* )

I would love to add a background to this I think it would make this really awesome if I did but I'm horrible at BG's whenever I do it they turn out messy and seem like they're crowding the pic causing it to look too busy. So I just don't do them all together.
Plain backgrounds are the best. I never do anything elaborate. Even a sky blue background would be better *nods* A gradiant if you're feeling excited. You should always do a background if the picture is of a scene- otherwise it destroys the illusion. Even if it's only a colour. In fact- only use white if you are only interested in the coloured subject ie- character sketch. Even a simple colour is beter than white. For example- http://www.deviantart.com/view/10048938/ this picture could've had a white background, but it would've distracted from the character, so I gave it a flat colour. http://www.deviantart.com/view/5706926/ This one works cause it emphasises the contrast between the light and dark, and the character is the only interest.
Yeah that makes sense. Maybe my next versus pic I'll try a BG but for this one I don't wanna screw it up cause I'm still learning how to use photoshop and I still wanna play around with it some more before I'm confident enough with it to put in some backgrounds.
If that background is white, you could select it, and delete the white area, then make a layer under the two of the colour. I do it all the time. 20 layers is nothing for a descent pic of mine. When you take in consideration whole layers of transparent colour to warm, cool or darken a pic. http://www.paperdemon.com/artview.php/id/4196.html this pic I just submited is only base colours, but it has a layer of dark green on top of the 'true' colours. This makes all the colours simliar, and easier on the eyes. Note that the brightest colours in it is the two guy's heads, and his arm holding him. I'll eventually push the sword back in colour, and the other bold colours, but does it kind of make sence?
Yup Yup! makes perfect sense. Maybe I'll play with this some more to see what I can do with it but most likely I won't change it too much cause I don't wanna mess it up like I usually do. I'll definatly try a BG for a future pic so space won't be wasted or nothin. Thanks for all your great advice by the way you help me out alot and most likely saved a few of my drawings from being a disaster
You can always save as a "......try 2.jpg" Or waht ever. I don't do that often, but sometimes I do cause my mind branchs off and I want to see what happens Don't worry about messing it up. You can always go back to the origanal with digetal *nods*

Does that make any sence?
