- Origins - 

Paliskobengar was not his name before. He was simply known to himself and others as the drakon, a creature of the draconian variety, minus the typical wings and horns, characterized by tall, attentive ears and a lot of floof.

He used to live in another reality - if you could call his daily experiences of not-quite dying, "living". Pitiful prisoner of a temporally twisted loop, playing hide-and-seek, cat-and-mouse with the two enormous predators that coinhabited the island. Every day. For years. Perpetually beaten, reset for another round at the end of the day. 

He was liberated one day, by some higher-order dimensional being. The reason? Time-loop maintenance. He was given a choice to return to his timeline or to --

"No. Don't make me go back. Anywhere but where I came from. Anything else. Not that."

Well, that settled it. 

Taken in by a being known as Zyklare, he was introduced to the inter-reality realm of the dimensional beings. In exchange for a safe place and a new life, he participated in Zyklare's ongoing project - to see if a displaced creature like him could be integrated into other realms. Through those series of "incomplete renderings", he went from drakon to dimensional beast to nearly failed subject to the semi-stable halfway point where he was now, presenting both drakon and human traits.

Where had those human traits come from? He was beginning to wonder who else was involved... and if someone else might be paying the price for him.

Likes cozy spaces, hiding places, and leaving no traces. He would make friends more readily, if only he wasn't so paranoid that somehow, he might get them into trouble.

Dislikes water, cats, surprises, and cameras. The first three are just bad reminders of his old time-looped reality. The last one is a recent development.

Elusive in shyness, reticent and soft-spoken at first glance. On the off chance that you make eye-contact with him, he won't run away, but he'll shrink in on himself, embarrassed at being observed. Despite his reaction, that would be a good time to approach him, if you wish to socialize. 

Piercing observations, blunt delivery. Due to his tendency to eavesdrop and people-watch without actually interacting, he makes notes on all sorts of things, which he will definitely bring up in conversation. Naturally, people become slightly more aware of the numerous hiding spaces around that might conceal a certain half-drakon.

The type to see a crowd and press himself into the corner, but not to walk away. He feels safer around others, and while he would rather remain unobserved, he would far prefer it if there were people to keep track of him in case something bad happened, than to be caught alone and disappear unknown.

Limited by fear of being a parasite. For some time now, unbeknownst to Zyklare and the other higher-order beings, Paiko was aware that he played only half the role in the project. Someone else was providing the energy and life force that helped keep him stable. He had never found this person, or being, or energy source. He wondered if they might resent him, if they knew who he was and that he was the one who had been leeching off their life this whole time. Maybe... maybe it happened with everyone he met. Was he a burden? Was he harming them? Would it be better if he just remained unnoticed, to prevent others from being dragged into his mess?

At any rate, a change of pace - a little adventure, a new world to explore - would do him some good.
