Mm, what was that? Something colorful and shiny... many things colorful and shiny. Pinned to the corkboard. Fluttering in the breeze.
Paiko checked over his shoulder once, twice, then approached the board. There was a flyer of some sort tacked there too, but being illiterate, Paiko paid no mind to whatever it might've been trying to say. What caught his attention were the gaps in the line of ribbons that edged the bottom of the papers. People were taking them, then? Could he take one? Were these free?
Now he wondered what the flyer was saying. Perhaps he could ask someone to tell him what it said--
Footsteps and the sound of rustling fabric.
His ears perked up, stiff and alert. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of red robes and a pale, cream-colored mask. A somewhat mysterious outfit. A somewhat... familiar one, as well?
He turned around and confirmed his suspicions. "O-oromykah?"
The robed figure looked back, seeing Paiko, eyes lighting up in recognition. "Paliskobengar? Or... Pakko, what did he call you-"
"It's Paiko." The half-drakon's tail swished back and forth, normally wary at seeing one of the klyptai; but out here, away from home base, the familiarity of a face overrode any apprehension.
"Paiko. Good to see you." Oromykah noticed Paiko's proximity to the board. "It looks like you've found the sign-up for the league. Are you thinking of joining? You should. Zyklare would be proud to have some representation from Katanorias."
That's what it was? A competition? Paiko started to back away from the board. "Oh. N-no, I don't think I would be good at such a thing-"
"Nonsense. You, dear drakon, are much more capable than you realize." Oromykah strode over and plucked a green ribbon from the board. He took Paiko's hand and curled the drakon's fingers around the little strip of green. Paiko felt a little surge of dimensional power between them as they touched. "I want you to prove something."
"Prove to whom? Prove what?"
"To everyone, that you've got more fight in you than it seems. To Zyklare, that he's brought you this far successfully. And to yourself, that you can do this."
Paiko nodded slowly, wondering if this was a heartfelt pep-talk or maybe just an advertisement. Either way, it was working to some degree. "Okay."
"Do your best. I don't want to see you holding back."
And just like that, Oromykah was finished. He patted Paiko twice on the shoulder and started walking away.
The drakon called after him, "What is this for, anyways? Who are you working with?"
Without turning around, the klyptai simply raised his arms, displaying the logo of the Academic Collective embroidered on his sleeve.

But hey, it gets him around! And I don't think he's going to regret it too much
Also, I adore Oromkyah's design. That outfit, along with the details such as the segmented (mechanical?) arm just all come together so well.
I have no idea what's going on with his arm or his color scheme hahaa (them dimensional beings are random), but I'm happy to hear that he looks coordinated to some extent
Love all the colours you used here really great piece
Thank you Charli! ^-^ (Honestly if you had seen me trying to pick colors it was a hot mess for a good ten minutes, and I kept adjusting until the very end. Mostly Oromykah's fault ;P)
Thats the best way to learn (Also good luck during the OCL ^u^)
Thank you! Paiko and I both appreciate the well wishes ^-^
Cuties though. I'm looking forward to seeing this story progress. >w<
I am also looking forward to seeing where it goes! Because I have no idea where it's going ^-^" Mykah kinda just popped up randomly so whatever "lore" there's going to be will be completely unplanned and absolutely pantsed, that's the fun stuff
